The Vines – “Metal Zone” (Official Video)

vinesIt’s an homage to the bands favourite distortion pedal plus a twisted, dark, raunchy, punk rock song about relationships. It arrives as the first single from The Vines’ forthcoming album “Wicked Nature”.

Like the guitar pedal namesake, there is a lot of psychotically soft-loud-soft dynamics happening in this new tune. “Metal Zone” is a straight up nightmare of freewheeling solos and screams from frontman Craig Nicholls, who jumps out of the song right before there is any time to get too familiar.

Powderfinger announce Sunsets – The Farewell Tour – Sep/Oct 2010

Australia’s biggest band, Powderfinger, announced details of their most extensive Australian tour to date at a press conference today together with the news that they will be disbanding following the tour.

This will be Powderfinger’s first major national tour since the hugely successful Across the Great Divide tour with Silverchair almost 3 years ago.

Roll up! Roll up! Rock ’n’ roll ringmaster SERJ TANKIAN has donned his top hat and will be cracking the whip at BIG DAY OUT 2009. The System of a Down front man has gone solo with the multi-layered album Elect the Dead. Backed by his band the FCC, TANKIAN’s show is a vaudevillian explosion – part comedic, part heart-attack serious. SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS will return to warm up your winter this Saturday 2nd and Sunday August 3rd, 2008. Australia’s much loved festival event will take place at Belongil Fields in Byron Bay and will feature a veritable feast of musical treasures from around the globe.

This year all tickets to SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS will be sold online through the ticketing service, Qjump, via www.qjump.com.au. Qjump is a newly launched online ticketing company whose parent company has 7 years experience providing web based ticketing services. Qjump sells tickets for many leading Australian events and venues and its website and custom built hosting environment has been specifically designed to meet the high capacity on-sale demands of events like Splendour. In our efforts to improve and streamline the ticketing process, this year’s tickets will be delivered to buyers by email using Qjump’s print@home e-ticket.
