Drawn from Bees “Fear Not” National Tour – July 2010

Arriving back to Australia after showcase performances for Musexpo and Music Matters across the UK, USA and Hong Kong, Drawn from Bees are about to jump right back on a plane to Sydney to embark on a national tour in support of their May 21 released album Fear Not The Footsteps Of The Departed.

Fear Not… is the band’s most multi-layered and complex release to date, juxtaposing Drawn from Bees’ most heartbreakingly beautiful songs with their most intellectual rock concepts and experimental soundscapes – sampling choirs and iPhones alike amongst almost spiritual laments of loss and love.

For one night only this July, the Judith Wright Centre will be transformed into the hottest nightclub in town for The Brink Party – a magnificent evening of unique physical spectacles and installations created by legendary Australian circus performer Rudi Mineur, star of the recent sell-out season of Briefs.

LITTLE RED “Rock It” Single and Tour Dates – July 2010

Melbourne melodicists Little Red have delivered the first single, ‘Rock It’, from their highly anticipated second album – and the response has been overwhelming. Premiered on Triple J’s breakfast show at the end of last week, the song has been on repeat rotation over recent days and has instantly received an official rotation add from the station.

Taken from the as-yet-untitled sophomore album (due out this September on Liberation Records), the song marks a cleaner, more hi-fi sound that was brought to life in collaboration with producer Scott Horscroft (The Temper Trap, The Presets, Silverchair). ‘Rock It’ is party music of the best kind: warm, infectious, straightforward and unadorned. It is the sound of a band moving even further toward a sound entirely their own, blurring their influences as they do the decades of classic pop they draw from.

Meanwhile, the band has announced a return to the live arena with a series of Rock It single launches around the country throughout July, culminating with a prime slot at the massive Splendour in the Grass festival. The lads have been one of the country’s most loved live acts ever since their emergence of a few years back, and it is standard practice that these shows will be a non-stop party of energy, huge melodies and good times. Fans will also hear the band premiering a selection of brilliant new songs from the forthcoming album. Tickets are sure to go quickly, so don’t hesitate.

The band’s next immediate step is London as they jet off to the UK this weekend to perform at next week’s Musexpo conference in London, as well as performing additional showcases over the following week. Their debut Listen to Little Red, a Top 30 hit at home, also received critical acclaim in the UK and anticipation is certainly high for these return shows.

‘Rock It’ the new single is OUT NOW on iTunes via Liberation Music.

Dean Carroll Launches Single & Supports ASH GRUNWALD – June/July 2010

Dean Carroll – who performs under the guise of Earth Worker – launches his new single titled ‘Who’s Coming Along’ which is taken from his debut album due out towards the end of the year. The single will be available for free download via his official website www.earthworker.com.au and Dean will hit the road to launch it supporting ASH GRUNWALD on his New South Wales dates.

Dean Carroll was born December 23rd in Windsor, Sydney. Dean spent his infant years under the strict seven year schedule of classical piano directed and influenced by his Mother and older sister. From here Dean rocked his way through high schoolon guitar and bass guitar writing classic alternative hard rock and Metal. It was here Dean started teaching himself to sing and play anything he wanted. Years past and Dean found himself in five years of service singing for Sydney four piece Metal Core outfit. This gave Dean all his songwriting, singing and industry experience which finally led him to the writing of Seeds of Light his debut solo album due out Summer 2011.

Dean spent the best part of six months travelling Australia busking and writing the album – which is still blessed with riffs and melodies he’s held onto since 2007.

Originally beginning his journey down in southern NSW Perisher Valley, dean ventured back up the east coast of Australia all the way to Cairns and then across the desert and north to Darwin. With nothing but his guitar and Didge Dean survived and lit the way he envisioned his song writing to become.

Dean has now independently recorded and produced his debut Full Length Album ‘Seeds of Light’ which will be released and distributed by New Justice Records Summer 2011.

Dean will also be touring Australia this coming year and in to the next backing his album and single release sometimes

Black Cab ‘Sexy Polizei’ Tour – July 2010

Melbourne psych rockers and concept kings, Black Cab undertake their first ever east coast tour to support new single ‘International Son’/’Sexy Polizei’ in mid July. The band’s 2009 album ‘Call Signs’ continues to receive accolades and was recently shortlisted for the 2009 Australian Music Prize. The band have never before played Brisbane and rarely tour so catch them while you can. The new single is due out mid-June with a new album expected later this year.

“Black Cab’s third album confirmed long running suspicions: playing to 400 patrons in an Aussie pub was an ill fit – they should have been playing Warsaw stadiums to 30,000 all along.

Call Signs took cues from Neu, Can, Cluster and other Euro luminaries, turned down the hippie intrigue of previous outings, delved into ‘found’ sounds, and upped their exhilarating blast factor. The result: one of 2009’s most powerful, cohesive and thrilling records. Ron Peno’s guest vocal on Ghost Anthems iced the cake.” (JB HI FI MAG) Continue reading Black Cab ‘Sexy Polizei’ Tour – July 2010

THE TING TINGS announce headline Melbourne & Sydney shows for July 2010

Sensational British pop duo The Ting Tings will be bringing their bright, bold melodies and catchy riffs to Melbourne and Sydney audiences for two exclusive headline performances this July.

The Grammy nominated outfit comprises of Jules de Martino on drums and Katie White on guitar and vocals. With an abundance of personality reflected in their brash lyrics and energetic tunes, The Ting Tings have been a strong presence in the pop realm since their irresistible 2008 debut album We Started Nothing.

The album propelled The Ting Tings to international fame with ‘That’s Not My Name’ and ‘Great DJ’ – wonderfully infectious singles crafted around no-nonsense chants that demanded attention from the very first listen.

The Ting Tings are arguably best experienced live, to which many concert goers can attest. Along with numerous international headline shows, the band has previously played at Big Day Out and will add this year’s Splendour In The Grass to their extensive tour list.

One of the best things about this band is witnessing how much they’re clearly enjoying themselves making all this noise – Katie grinning broadly at Jules as she thrashes out her bare chords. Their kickass way with a simple pop tune doesn’t hurt, either, but uncomplicated as the music is, there’s no doubt, watching them, how much they mean it. – NME

It’s no secret that everyone wants a piece of The Ting Tings this winter. Tickets to both headline shows will be highly sought after so jump on it.

Frontier Members pre-sale begins Thursday 3 June at 12 noon AEST. General public on-sale available from Tuesday 8 June, 9am local time.
