SECOND SHOWS ADDED TO MEET DEMAND!

Regina Spektor fans in Sydney and Melbourne have snapped up tickets to her Sydney and Melbourne shows, with both shows selling out in just minutes. Second shows in both cities have been added to meet the high demand at Sydney Opera House Concert Hall on April 28 and Palais Theatre in Melbourne on May 1.

Regina’s fifth and latest album release, Far, continues to captivate listeners with sharp observations about the world around us. An insightful album full of universal appeal which maintains the intimate dialogue that is trademark Regina Spektor, the album peaked in the Top 10 on the ARIA Album chart and continues to win hearts across the nation.

Tickets to both new shows are on sale at 9:30am today – 16 March 2010

The Jezabels Sydney Show & National Support Tour with Tegan & Sara

jezabels   The Jezabels are pleased to announce a Sydney headline show at Oxford Art Factory in April, before taking the road for a national tour with Tegan & Sara in May. The band have wrapped up the summer in fine form with appearances at festivals including Field Day Sydney, Soundwave Melbourne and Playground Weekender since releasing their latest EP ‘She’s So Hard’ independently through MGM late last year.

‘Hurt Me’, the EP’s first single, with it’s unmistakable striding drum grooves has been gathering momentum at radio through to TV and retail scoring iTunes Single Of The Week, Rage Indie Clip Of The Week and video playlist adds on Channel V & MTV. The EP has entered into the AIR 100% Indie Single Charts, it currently sits at #13.

The Frontier Touring Company announces the return of Regina Spektor to Australia and New Zealand in April this year.

When Regina Spektor’s family moved from her birthplace of the Soviet Union to America’s Bronx, her musical interests and talent expanded from the genre of classical music toward the vibrancy of pop and rock. These transitions of location and taste are reflected in the classical artistry within her piano composition and distinctive eclectic fusion of sounds. Adding to her repertoire of skills is her ability to play not only the piano but the guitar and occasional percussion as well, rendering her a truly versatile musician.

Since the mid 1990s, Stephen has been a fixture at literally hundreds of live shows, capturing the excitement and energy through his lens. All up, he’s taken more than 30,000 images and, throughout March 2010, his favourite 50 will be on display at Brisbane Powerhouse as part of a unique exhibition simply called “Rock and Roll”. There’s no doubting that over the past few decades Brisbane has grown into a true music town. And few people have been there to see the city’s evolution quite like acclaimed music photographer Stephen Booth. Since the mid 1990s, Stephen has been a fixture at literally hundreds of live shows, capturing the excitement and energy through his lens. All up, he’s taken more than 30,000 images and, throughout March 2010, his favourite 50 will be on display at Brisbane Powerhouse as part of a unique exhibition simply called “Rock and Roll”. The photos featured in this very special show range from intimate gigs in long lost venues, through to huge stadium extravaganzas – from a punk show in a car park to U2 in an enormodome. “Rock and Roll” will rekindle those musical memories we all have. Vampire Weekend headline shows announced for April/May 2010

The Frontier Touring Company have announced that indie rockers Vampire Weekend will be performing a series of headline shows across Australia and New Zealand in April/May in addition to their Groovin’ The Moo performances.

The band initially made their mark on the music scene through their immense online success at a time when the term ‘internet sensation’ was relatively unheard of. After dominating online audiences, they released their hotly anticipated self-titled debut in 2008, cementing their arrival to indie rock. Their sharp, witty lyrics intermingled with African inspired beats guided them toward the forefront of the genre and the band quickly escalated to global fame.

JOHN MAYER Touring Australia & New Zealand – April/May 2010

Chugg Entertainment confirmed John Mayer’s seven-date tour of New Zealand and Australia this April and May, including concerts in Newcastle and Wollongong.

Bringing, in song, his latest on love, heartbreak and life lessons, it’s a wiser, more enlightened Mayer who, with the 70’s and 80’s California rock/pop sound of his new album, Battle Studies, heads to the Antipodes for a tour of the same name.

The tour plays New Zealand first kicking off at Wellington’s TSB Bank Arena on Tuesday April 27 and Auckland’s Vector Arena on Wednesday April 28.

Bluesfest 2010 artist Bela Fleck wins his 12th and 13th Grammy Awards!

Major upcoming Bluesfest 2010 draw card and virtuoso musician Béla Fleck has just won his 12th and 13th career Grammys at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards that took place on January 31, 2010 in Los Angeles.

The awards were “Best Contemporary World Music Album” for his latest album Throw Down Your Heart and “Best Pop Instrumental Performance” for the album’s title track Throw Down Your Heart.
