NEW FOUND GLORY continue their dominance in a genre they pioneered almost 20 years ago, providing a breath of fresh air and boasting a catalogue that contains some of the most memorable pop punk songs in history. NEW FOUND GLORY has never sounded more incredible, and as their legion of Australian fans can attest to, they have taken the genre by the throat and defined it with their sound. Paying homage to the bands that inspired them to pick up their instruments, NEW FOUND GLORY’s 8th studio album ‘Resurrection’ showcases a band at the top of their game and “is a powerhouse of a record, the brave onward steps of New Found Glory proving that hope–like pop-punk–is not dead.” – Kerrang!

New Found energy, New Found purpose; New Found Glory is back in the ring.
|As opposed to the majority of their stale contemporaries, New Found Glory attacks each album with a breath of fresh air in a genre saturated with vocoder and neon. With an impressive catalog that hosts some of the most memorable pop punk songs of the past decade, their Epitaph Records debut ‘Not Without a Fight’, shows just how well they put their competition in a finishing headlock, “there’s no need to put up a fight, because New Found Glory takes the title by default.” – Absolute Punk|
Natalie Bassingthwaighte’s debut solo album “1000 Stars” has bolted straight to number one on the ARIA Album Chart this week. In doing so, Natalie becomes the tenth Australian female solo artist to achieve a number one album. “1000 Stars” features two top ten singles, and surpasses the success Natalie achieved with Rogue Traders, where she enjoyed a number two album with “Here Come The Drums” and number four album with “Better In The Dark”.
In further ARIA Album Chart news this week, The Prodigy achieves a fourth ARIA top 10 album, with “Invaders Must Die” charting first week in at number three. Lamb Of God’s “Wrath” is the third album to debut in the top 10 this week – it’s their second chart entry with 2006’s “Sacrament” debuting and peaking at 25.
Following her whirlwind Australian promotional tour and Brit Awards haul, Duffy’s

As promised, Soundwave returns in ’09, and to paraphrase Southpark, it is bigger, longer and uncut!
Topped by one of this generation’s most talented and uncompromising bands in NINE INCH NAILS, the festival also sees a long overdue return of grunge titans ALICE IN CHAINS and juvenile delinquents The BLOODHOUND GANG.
Never one to rest on there laurels, they’ve announced the second round of artists for Soundwave 09!
So without further ado… joining the already massive cast will be the powerful live force that is the Dillinger Escape Plan, Florida Metalcore titans Underoath, the sky-high hooks of Forever The Sickest Kids, pop rock balladeers Jack’s Mannequin and the unrelenting rhythms of All That Remains.
As always, there is also plenty to offer the fans of punk, metal and the heavier end of the alternative spectrum, as well as signing tents giving artists the opportunity to meet fans, market stalls and the odd bit of crappy installation art for you to laugh at.
