|Midnight Juggernauts return with their next single ’Lifeblood Flow’ from their highly acclaimed second album, The Crystal Axis. A dazzling lesson in how electronic-pop should be made, ’Lifeblood Flow’ is like something out of a 70s sci-fi epic – walls of sound and all. With a chorus so immediately affecting, it’s the track that will shape 2010 as Midnight Juggernauts’ biggest year yet.
In just a few week’s time, audiences can catch Midnight Juggernauts at venues across the country supported by Dappled Cities, Canyons and Kirin J Callinan. They’ll play Thursday 12 August at The Gov in Adelaide, Saturday 14 August at The Capitol in Perth, Thursday 19 August at The Forum in Melbourne, Friday 20 August at The Forum in Sydney, and Saturday 21 August at the Hi Fi in Brisbane.
“Soilwork are one of the 25 most important bands in Metal” – Alternative Press Magazine
– The Panic Broadcast (Exclusive Bonus Version) – Soilwork
|Sweden’s melodic death metal masters Soilwork will be ripping up Aussie shores for only the third time in October this year. Touring on the back of the release of their eighth studio album, The Panic Broadcast, which drummer Dirk Verbeuren has described as “the true musical path of Soilwork”, the band will be bringing their killer live shows that The Metal Observer have dubbed “Metal with the fun factor in the driving seat”.|
|Arriving back to Australia after showcase performances for Musexpo and Music Matters across the UK, USA and Hong Kong, Drawn from Bees are about to jump right back on a plane to Sydney to embark on a national tour in support of their May 21 released album Fear Not The Footsteps Of The Departed.
Fear Not… is the band’s most multi-layered and complex release to date, juxtaposing Drawn from Bees’ most heartbreakingly beautiful songs with their most intellectual rock concepts and experimental soundscapes – sampling choirs and iPhones alike amongst almost spiritual laments of loss and love.
The Frontier Touring Company announced the tour of Australia’s very own electronica drum & bass six-piece, Pendulum.
Pendulum will be touring in support of their newly released ARIA #10 album Immersion. The first single, ‘Watercolour’ shot into the #1 position on the iTunes chart and the excitement that has built around the album is almost palatable. Sydney’s ART vs SCIENCE have crammed the kind of heady ascent experienced by the luckiest of bands into a timeline that belies their few short years. From regional pubs to national festivals to…trains, the three-piece have built a massive following on the basis of two simple abiding principles:
In doing so they’ve become a live powerhouse; selling out shows, ascending to festival favourites the nation over, staying up all night and sometimes right into the morning and regularly arresting the eyes and ears of all who witness their peculiar brand of madness. Or as one international headliner recently squeezed: “how am I supposed to follow that?” Continue reading ART vs SCIENCE Announce New Single and Tour – Aug/Sep 2010
Melbourne melodicists Little Red have delivered the first single, ‘Rock It’, from their highly anticipated second album – and the response has been overwhelming. Premiered on Triple J’s breakfast show at the end of last week, the song has been on repeat rotation over recent days and has instantly received an official rotation add from the station.
Taken from the as-yet-untitled sophomore album (due out this September on Liberation Records), the song marks a cleaner, more hi-fi sound that was brought to life in collaboration with producer Scott Horscroft (The Temper Trap, The Presets, Silverchair). ‘Rock It’ is party music of the best kind: warm, infectious, straightforward and unadorned. It is the sound of a band moving even further toward a sound entirely their own, blurring their influences as they do the decades of classic pop they draw from.
Meanwhile, the band has announced a return to the live arena with a series of Rock It single launches around the country throughout July, culminating with a prime slot at the massive Splendour in the Grass festival. The lads have been one of the country’s most loved live acts ever since their emergence of a few years back, and it is standard practice that these shows will be a non-stop party of energy, huge melodies and good times. Fans will also hear the band premiering a selection of brilliant new songs from the forthcoming album. Tickets are sure to go quickly, so don’t hesitate.
The band’s next immediate step is London as they jet off to the UK this weekend to perform at next week’s Musexpo conference in London, as well as performing additional showcases over the following week. Their debut Listen to Little Red, a Top 30 hit at home, also received critical acclaim in the UK and anticipation is certainly high for these return shows.
‘Rock It’ the new single is OUT NOW on iTunes via Liberation Music.

|Here it is, the official first line-up announcement for Parklife 2010. We’ve mentioned it before, but it’s their tenth birthday this year, and it looks like the celebrations are set to go off with a bang. Since the release of their ARIA Award winning album, Flying Colours, the skyrocketing Sydney-siders have graced some of Australia’s biggest festivals (Homebake, Pyramid Rock, Splendour in the Grass), and became the sole hip-hop act billed on the historic Sound Relief concert in “what many are stating was the performance of the day” (Beat Magazine).
