The Sinking Teeth announce ‘You Can’t Build A Bike Out Of Muffins’ Tour

the sinking teethApparently you can’t build a tour out of muffins, but Melbourne post-punk loons The Sinking Teeth are out to prove otherwise on a ten date, five state tour this June/July. The tour will celebrate the release of their new single ‘You Can’t Build A Bike Out Of Muffins’, which will be released in coming weeks. The track is the first single from their second EP Salt & Stitches which will be launched on the final date of the tour at The Workers Club in Melbourne on July 26.

In between being naked on stage supporting Calling All Cars and taking promo jobs dressed as Freddo Frog to pay for studio time, The Sinking Teeth have spent the last six months chipping away at writing and recording Salt & Stitches, a follow up to White Water which was released in October of last year.

The album playfully redefines the boundaries of her unique style of indie pop whilst pushing her voice into uncharted vocal terrain. Made possible by the support of Kate’s army of loyal fans who funded the album through PledgeMusic in a record-breaking 3 days, it was released in March and garnered rave reviews along with a top 5 debut on the ARIA album chart.

Kate launched the album to her fans in capital cities with a sold-out series of intimate acoustic shows, featuring long-term collaborator Keir Nuttall on guitar and musical freak-genius John Rodgers on violin and piano. The trio will now embark on an extensive tour of regional centres to premiere songs from O Vertigo!, along with old favourites. Joe Bonamassa has just announced his 2014 Australian tour dates. Kicking off in Sydney on September 14, the tour finishes up a week later in Perth on September 21, after performances in Adelaide and Melbourne.

The new live show will offer two stellar band line-ups with Joe Bonamassa dividing the show in half, offering audiences both a full acoustic and full electric set. This will be Bonamassa’s first time performing a full acoustic set in Australia for local audiences.

Sometimes s#%t happens…Unfortunately the Toxic Holocaust & Skeletonwitch tour slated for April was cancelled at last minute due to Joel Grind from Toxic being diagnosed with a serious throat condition which required immediate action lest he lose his voice for good.

He is currently in recovery and sharpening the blades with his sights set on a November reschedule which will see the Holocaust back in our lands ready to rip them apart with their old school nuclear thrash attack. Their latest and greatest album, Chemistry Of Consciousness will be just over a year old by then so the songs will be refined into lethal weapons and the band will be a fine tuned wrecking machine.
