SOUNDWAVE RETURNS, BIGGER, BETTER & GOING WHERE NO FESTIVAL HAS GONE BEFORE.

There used to be a saying at Soundwave that no one band is bigger than the festival …

That saying will be tested in 2011 as we proudly announce a rare chance to see rock legends IRON MAIDEN as the headline artist for next years festival. Maiden are one of the few artists that inspire loyalty and worship by a constantly growing army that spans several generations of not only fans, but other rock musicians ranging from todays biggest metal bands to pop icons.

What makes Iron Maiden unique amongst their peers is that the band has never lost their creative touch and their ability to deliver album after album of greatness. Just when you would think there cannot be another hitherto undiscovered original yet amazing guitar riff; Maiden turn up with another album full of new classics to add to metal and rocks greatest back
catalogue.

Only a fool would bet against the bands upcoming album, The Final Frontier, being anything less than a masterpiece. Only a fool would bet against Iron Maiden, period.

Maiden will be bringing with them the full stage production that featured in their hugely successful recent tour of North America, where they played to almost 400,000 fans over the 25 shows. And of course that includes Eddies
latest incarnation..!!

Joining our gargantuan headliners is a cast of rock, punk and metal luminaries, headed by the regal guitar rock of QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, metal gods SLAYER, indie pioneers PRIMUS, the incomparable SLASH and fifty or so other international artists who form the who is who of cutting edge music for the coming decade.

And that is just the 1st announcement…

PEARL “Immaculate Little White Fox” – Album Review

Review: Hannah Collins

LittleLittle Immaculate White Fox
If you dig classic rock, and idolise the genre’s greats, you’ll find this album utterly intriguing.

Pearl Aday‘s first solo production brings with it over two decades of influence from some of rocks finest performers. She’s toured with Motley Crue, Meat Loaf, featured with Filter, hung out with Slash and jammed with Jerry Cantrell. Immaculate Little white Fox is full of grungy riffs, classic rock solos, and intricate lyricism. The shifting track listing rolls like waves and is neither stagnant nor boring. Pearls vocal ability, has been rounded and refined over the years, as she’s moved from stage hand to backup singer and finally found her place, as a stage front performer, bringing all her experience together, in her first singular application.

Slash – Australian Tour – August 2010

Slash   Few artists in rock history can carry off the single moniker, and carry it with gravitas.
SLASH is one of that rare breed.

Since emerging with Guns N’ Roses, SLASH has been one of the world’s most sought after guitarists. Michael Jackson, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Quentin Tarantino and so many other fellow icons have sought his services in order to make the good sound great.

Critics and fans alike still debate the greatest rock riff of all time with “Sweet Child O’ Mine” consistently taking top honors. Time Magazine placed SLASH second only to Jimi Hendrix amongst the greatest guitarists of all time.

ARIA Chart News – w/c 12th April 2010

Having spent the last three weeks at number two, Lady Gaga’s album “The Fame Monster” takes over the top position on this week’s ARIA Album Chart. The album’s entire eighteen-week chart life has been spent in the top 10. On the ARIA Singles and Digital Track Charts, Train’s “Hey, Soul Sister” holds firm for a fourth consecutive week, well on the way to becoming one of this year’s most successful chart toppers. It is the only single in the top 17 of this week’s singles chart that has a physical component.

“I Like That” from Richard Vission & Static Revenger featuring Luciana makes a bold move up the ARIA Singles Chart this week, jumping from 7 to 3 and edging ever closer to top spot. With a visit to our shores scheduled for later this month, Justin Bieber’s “Baby” featuring Ludacris moves up from 11 to 6, and “Nothin’ On You” from B.o.B. (featuring Bruno Mars) hits the top 10, moving up from 14 to 8. Also achieving their first top 10 single result is UK outfit Florence + The Machine, blasting up eight places to #9 this week with their hit single “You’ve Got The Love”. Another artist to visit on a promotional tour recently is US superstar Adam Lambert, who sees his single “Whataya Want From Me” grow week on week – this week he just misses out on an Aussie top 10 result as the single moves up five places to #11. Miley Cyrus also continues her upward trajectory, racing forward nine places to a top 20 result, landing at #19 this week with “When I Look At You”. Top 40 debuts this week are lead by Usher featuring Will.I.Am at #15 with “OMG”, followed by Lady Gaga at #28 with “Alejandro” and The Temper Trap at 32 with “Love Lost”
