The eighth annual Blues on Broadbeach Music Festival will be held from Thursday the 28th of May up until and Sunday the 31st of May 2009.

The annual Blues on Broadbeach Music Festival has attracted over 250,000 people since it’s inception in 2002 making this a world class event.

Transcending the barriers of age, gender and culture Blues on Broadbeach is one of Australia’s iconic Blues Festivals. The Blues on Broadbeach Music Festival is unique as it feeds on the unique village like atmosphere and relaxed ambience that is Broadbeach.

The Blues on Broadbeach Music festival nurtures Australian Blues talent as well as provides a stage for international acts. The festival provides a musical experience like no other in Queensland, remaining a FREE event.

Blues music is food for the soul and this festival combines the best of blues with the cream of Gold Coast cuisine in a guaranteed recipe for success.

On show at the Cremorne Theatre QPAC from 24-28 March, the whole family will enjoy this whimsical piece of theatre, which combines audience interaction, music, movement and a stunning visual design.

Presented by QPAC, Fluff was created by Christine Johnston, one of Queensland’s most celebrated performing artists, collaborating with acclaimed choreographer/dancer Lisa O’Neill and electronic musician, Peter Nelson.

deathcabforcutiepromo After their sold out Australian tour in August 2008, Billions Australia are pleased to announce the return of Death Cab for Cutie to Australian shores for a run of summer dates this February.

Kicking off the tour with an outdoor show in Fremantle, Death Cab for Cutie are then set to perform in intimate theatre surrounds in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

The year just past saw Death Cab for Cutie’s sixth studio album “Narrow Stairs”, debut at Number 6 on the ARIA Album Chart and an impressive Number 1 debut on the US Billboard Chart. “Narrow Stairs is rapidly approaching Gold sales (500,000) in their home country.

Described by The Sydney Morning Herald as ‘bold and original’, TaikOz is Australia’s most energetic and exciting taiko drumming group. From 28 – 30 October 2008, Brisbane audiences will have the chance to experience their compelling performances when TaikOz tours The Gathering to Brisbane Powerhouse.


The Gathering is an unforgettable concert experience. The powerful and thundering sound of taiko drumming is counter-balanced with the beautiful, ethereal tones of the shakuhachi bamboo flute. Featuring performances by shakuhachi Grand Master Riley Lee and guest percussionist Timothy Constable, the result is a synthesis of east and west, old and new.

Since its formation in 1997, TaikOz has become Australia’s most exciting and energetic taiko drumming ensemble, attracting devoted audiences across the country and around the world. While observing ancient practices, the Japanese art form of taiko is given a uniquely Australian interpretation with muscular choreography, hypnotic compositions and delicate musicality.
