On show at the Cremorne Theatre QPAC from 24-28 March, the whole family will enjoy this whimsical piece of theatre, which combines audience interaction, music, movement and a stunning visual design.

Presented by QPAC, Fluff was created by Christine Johnston, one of Queensland’s most celebrated performing artists, collaborating with acclaimed choreographer/dancer Lisa O’Neill and electronic musician, Peter Nelson.

A highly imaginative work, Fluff delves into the secret lives of toys in a simple, joyful and humorous tale told with a twist. This warm and humorous tale of abandonment at the bottom of the toy box was created especially for children, yet is loved by everyone who values the imaginative quality of playtime.

Fluff explores the way children give toys’ personalities and the cross-over between new technologies and traditional, hand-made, simple toys. Acclaimed for its originality, Fluff was a highlight of QPAC’s 2002 ‘Out of the Box’ Festival, and a popular school holiday show at QPAC in 2006,

Fluff returns home after casting its magical spell over the 2009 Sydney Festival in January and the Auckland Festival this month (March).

Christine Johnston has toured Australia with her innovative works for children and adult audiences. Her previous works includes Pianissimo also with Lisa O’Neill (QPAC, Sydney Opera House); and Decent Spinster (QPAC, Brisbane Powerhouse, Sydney Opera House, Adelaide Cabaret Festival).

Christine is well known as the co-creator and member of the multi-award winning comedic trio, The Kransky Sisters, which has just returned after an extensive overseas tour.

Lisa O’Neill is a performing artist, choreographer and teacher whose work has been commissioned by The Queensland Ballet and The Brisbane Festival. Acclaimed Brisbane musician Peter Nelson, who has performed at Livid and Big Day Out, is also one of the characters – and is the musical director of Fluff
