Walking up to Festival Hall on a Thursday night it was clear from the sea of black t-shirts and pleather that people were here for a rock show.

Boris (JPN) – Live Noise Alive – Australian Tour 2015

BORIS

Legendary Japanese noisemakers Boris returns to our shores for the “Live Noise Alive” Australian tour.

19 albums in 19 years. That’s the studio discography of one of the most significant and prolific bands to emerge from Japan’s noise scene. Marilyn Manson’s event started with all lights out, making the venue pitch black. Suddenly there was a blinding white light, then a mixture of red green and purple that pulsed through the venue and audience. The audience responded with a roar.

As we all stood and waited for the show to start, the Hordern Pavilion were playing Iron Maiden’s “666 the number of the beast”. I was stoked to hear a venue playing great music that really builds the atmosphere leading into the bands performances.
