The Choirboys preform AC/DC’s High Voltage @ New Globe TheatreFriday, November 28th, 2014 marked a great day for rock n’ roll enthusiasts.

With the highly anticipated release of ‘Rock or Bust’, the 16th release from AC/DC hitting the shelves of stores worldwide, it was in Brisbane, Queensland that the locals were treated to a one of a kind performance being put on by one of Australia’s greatest pub rock bands, The Choirboys, as they performed the classic AC/DC album, ‘High Voltage’ in its entirety.

The Choirboys were doing a six date tour over three different cities, with ‘High Voltage’ being preformed on the Friday night, and ‘Highway To Hell’ on Saturday evening. Each album’s set was also followed by a great hour long performance consisting of classic hits from The Choirboys back catalogue.

chiorboysTo celebrate the 40th anniversary of Bon Scott joining AC/DC, Choirboys are thrilled to announce they will be paying homage to their idols AC/DC and Bon Scott by performing two of the greatest Rock albums of all time, AC/DC’s High Voltage and Highway To Hell, track by track from beginning to end. After the resounding success of 2 earlier dates at the Bridge Hotel in Sydney the guys have decided to add more capital city dates. Coming are 2 shows each at the Cherry Bar (Melbourne), The Basement (Sydney) and New Globe Theatre (Brisbane). Tickets on sale now! Bon Scott, one of the greatest front men in rock joined one of the world’s greatest rock bands AC/ DC in 1974, thus began a journey that is still legendary today. AC/DC fans can relive these two historic albums being performed by one of Australia’s quintessential rock bands. Choirboys front man, Mark Gable said “I’ve always loved AC/DC and Bon. We recorded our first album in the same studio that AC/DC made their first five albums, so I have a connection that goes way back.” “I love being in Choirboys, but I’ve always wanted to be in AC/DC, this is my chance to do both”.

Joe Louis Walker – Australian Tour Announced – October/November 2014

JoeLouisWalkerJoe Louis Walker has been a blues force since he was a 16-year-old kid playing guitar and backing the best of the best on the stages of his hometown, San Francisco.

JLW could spend hours sharing celebrity stories, having recorded or performed with stars such as B.B. King, Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal, Huey Lewis, Branford Marsalis and Ike Turner. Through his friendship with guitar great Mike Bloomfield of the Butterfield Blues Band, he also rubbed elbows with musicians including Jimi Hendrix, Steve Miller, Johnny Winter, members of the Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane.

Brisbane Fringe Festival: Monster #1 Attack of the Crab Monsters

crab_monsters_hiTake some of Brisbane’s most accomplished musicians. Smash them together into a make-shift outfit. Tell them to play the score to a muted black and white sci-fi film live in front of an audience. That’s precisely what is happening with MONSTER – a series where locals perform a live soundtrack to films. The inaugural edition involves the 1957 film Attack of the Crab Monsters. The band features Ian Haug (Powderfinger, The Church), Jackie Marshall, Chris Perren (Mr Maps, Nonsemble), Hik Sugimoto (almost every band in Brisbane), Sallie Campbell (every other band in the world), Ed Guglielmino and more – playing a score and libretto by Shêm Allen (Skinny Jean). This all-ages show promises to be a thrilling new take on the possibilities of live music in the Brisbane community.
