Jinja Safari ‘Forest Eyes’ Tour – November 2010

  One of the most talked about new bands in the country, Jinja Safari, are set to bring their effervescent forest-themed musical japery to venues around the country with November’s Forest Eyes Tour. The band have come a long way in a short space of time, from playing their first ever show in May to courting the national festival circuit – including sets at Splendour In The Grass, Coaster Festival and Big Sound (with more to come over summer) followed by a national tour with Art vs Science and the release of their debut EP.

Moniters announce debut single ‘Exit The System’ & Official Launch Dates

Meet The Moniters – a sub indie dirty electro-rock 3 piece from Brisbane, Australia.


The Moniters – ‘Exit the System’ 		  The story so far is a fairly organic one: Comprising of frontman Jimi Lucas, drummer Matt Schrader and bassist Barney Gickel, the three band members met at a Killers concert when Jimi and Matt ran into Barney whom Matt already knew through some session work that they’d both collaborated on a few years earlier. They began demoing ideas up at Jimi’s place, with Jimi and Barney laying down ideas over sampled drums which Matt would then make his

changes across the top of. Once they had enough tracks together, they sent the demo’s down to Melbourne based producer Forrester Savell (Dead Letter Circus, Birds of Tokyo). Forrester, loving the tracks, asked the band to fly down to record them with him at sing sing south studios. Titled “Sex City Lovers” their resulting debut Ep is scheduled for 2011 release.

  Sure, they toured with Clutch, Calexico and the Hoodoo Gurus this year all before they shook down venues the US again with their signature gritty performances, but true to form The Fumes are eager to be back in front of local fans this time with Elliot Brood who owns his own set of accolades and stays close to the road, touring relentlessly. The Brood will be on tour to support their debut album release.

The New Pornographers – “Together” Australian Tour November 2010 [Tour News]

  In celebration of their fifth album, “Together”, Canadian-US super-collective The New Pornographers are primed to make their return to Australia this November. As perfect a pop outfit as you’re ever likely to find, The New Pornographers have always dreamed of finding a middle ground between Led Zeppelin and The 5th Dimension, which as it turns out is actually quite a good way of describing their mix of deceptively complex songwriting combined with glimmering hooks and arena-like power.

And as Australian punters are more than aware the bright yet often bittersweet nature of what they do, including all those wonderful vocal harmonies, is an even better experience in the live setting.

Philadelphia Grand Jury ‘Save Our Town’ Australian Tour – Nov/Dec 2010

  By the time Philadelphia Grand Jury come back to Australia in November for the ‘Save Our Town’ tour they will have spent the 6 months prior to that doing the following: living and recording in London; setting up a studio; they will have crossed the USA no less than 3 times; played over 50 dates in the UK; toured South Africa; and even ducked back to Australia to play the main stage at Splendour in the Grass.

Now the Philly Jays are set to release their newly recorded single ‘Save our Town’. The track will be side A on a limited edition seven inch vinyl release, which will also feature as a B side the newly recorded version of a live crowd favourite – the punk cover version of Jay-Z’s ’99 Problems’.

The Holidays – Debut Album Release & National Headline Tour – October 2010

Sydney foursome The Holidays’ debut album, Post Paradise, may have been a long time coming, but it has absolutely been worth the wait.

Post Paradise (Bonus Track Version) – The Holidays 		  The band commenced writing the album early last year and a metamorphosis of sorts gradually began to take place. They’ve left behind the simplicity of their earlier indie guitar sound and took aboard new influences where both the groove and layers were equally as rewarding as the glistening pop hooks. A steady guiding hand also came from one of the country’s premier mixers, Tony Espie (Avalanches, Midnight Juggernauts, Cut Copy).

On first listen brand new single Broken Bones is as unassuming as a late summer stroll but then consistently uncovers more and more layers to reveal a luscious, tropical experience.

LINKIN PARK – Australian Tour December 2010


Linkin – Linkin Park 		  Under the heat of the summer sun Linkin Park will reign over Australia this December, playing major arena shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

The tour follows the September 10 release of Linkin Park’s fourth studio album ‘A Thousand Suns’ on Machine Shop Recordings / Warner Music. Following on from their 2007 #1 album ‘Minutes to Midnight’, the album is co-produced by Rick Rubin and Mike Shinoda, and features 15-tracks, including lead single ‘The Catalyst’, currently tearing up Australian radio.

Due to overwhelming demand, Cloud Control are pleased to announce a third additional Melbourne show at the East Brunswick Club on Monday, 4th of October.

This new show will give Cloud Control fans the chance to see the band in a more intimate setting.
Joining them are Seekae and Ivy League’s latest signing, buzz band Alpine.

RICHARD BONA Journeys to Australia – November 2010

  The electrifying Cameroonian bassist and singer Richard Bona is coming to Australia with his band for the very first time. This is destined to be a wonderful, genre-bending tour that takes in Sydney and Melbourne before finishing up at the famous Adelaide International Guitar Festival which is curated by Slava Grigoryan.

Richard’s band for his first Australian outing includes a handful of fine contemporary musicians – Etienne Declin Stadwijk on keyboards, Lee Tatum Greenblatt on trumpet, Jean Christophe Marie Maillard on guitar, and Ernesto Siverio Simpson on drums.

Matt Corby ‘Transition to Colour’ EP Launch Tour

  After a short, sharp national tour throughout July, leaving a growing legion of rather amazed fans in his wake at a string of sold out venues (as well as supporting Mumford and Sons at their sold out Sydney shows), Matt Corby is proud to announce that he will be returning to Melbourne and Sydney for two special event shows in October.

The shows will coincide with the release of Matt’s second EP, Transition to Colour, on October 8, and serve as a taster for a broader national EP tour later in the year, as well as Matt’s 2011 scheduled debut album.
