Tour News : Macklemore – Gemini Australia Tour 2018

After nailing his recent NRL Grand Final performance, four-time Grammy-Award winner Macklemore announced his return for a headline tour this February.

Macklemore is touring in celebration of his new album, Gemini, his first solo album since 2005, following on from the worldwide success for Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ albums The Heist (2012) – home to singles ‘Can’t Hold Us’, ‘Thrift Shop’ and ‘Same Love’ – and This Unruly Mess I’ve Made (2016) featuring the smash hit, ‘Downtown’.

Gemini, which peaked at #1 on the iTunes Chart and #3 on the ARIA Album Chart, features hit singles ‘Glorious’ and ‘Good Old Days’. Twice-platinum ‘Glorious’ featuring Skylar Grey, is Macklemore’s fifth ARIA top three single and his first as a solo artist. Also residing in the Top 50 of Billboard’s Hot 100, the track is currently sitting at #2 on the ARIA Chart and at #4 on the iTunes Chart.

Follow up single, ‘Good Old Days’ featuring Kesha, is the latest track to be lifted from Gemini, this week rising to #3 on the iTunes Chart and climbing into the top 20 on the ARIA Singles Chart.

Live Review : A Day To Remember + Tonight Alive + Issues at Adelaide Entertainment Centre – 13 December 2016

A Day To Remember at Adelaide Entertainment Centre - 13 December 2016 Photographer: Peter Coates
ISSUES kicked off the night with an enthusiastic performance for the growing crowd. Excellent tight drumming from Josh Manuel and a mammoth performance on bass from Skyler Acord built the platform for the twin vocals of Tyler Carter and Michael Bohn, who often displayed some high-quality R & B singing, with really clean, strong harmonies. There is a variety in the set list that covers extreme metalcore through to some progressive melodic metal, and the pop angle the band coined as ‘New Nu Metal’, which probably stems from the fact these guys have been doing their stuff for over 5 years, and we got a selection of material displaying their development, as well as from the new record, Headspace.

Sydney band TONIGHT ALIVE have been added to all dates on the forthcoming A DAY TO REMEMBER tour. These will be their first Australian shows since the release of their third album, Limitless, which was released in March and debuted at #6 on the ARIA Charts.

Limitless has been a worldwide success, with the band making waves across Europe and North America this year including appearances at Warped Tour in the USA, and appearing on the cover of UK magazines Rock Sound and Kerrang. TONIGHT ALIVE will join an incredible line-up that also includes Californian metalcore act OF MICE & MEN, who are currently touring America with Slipknot and have their new album Cold World due out in September.

Meanwhile, A DAY TO REMEMBER continue to build massive anticipation for their forthcoming album Bad Vibrations (September 2) with the release of “Naivety,” the latest single to be released from their new record.
