Lamb Of God with Killer Be Killed + Guests announce Soundwave Sidewaves

lamb of god

There are metal bands and then there is LAMB OF GOD.

Hitting with the force of an invading apocalyptic army, LAMB OF GOD will be storming the stages on Soundwave this summer. The Virginian natives are back to inject Australia with a crippling dose of pure metal and will be performing two Sidewaves in Sydney and Melbourne. It’s the live arena where they truly become a force of nature though…

Interview with DJ of AREA-7

Interview by Stuart Blythe
area-7

We caught up with AREA-7 Keyboardist DJ to chat about Soundwave Festival 2015, touring and the year ahead.

You’re playing at Soundwave 2015. What are you most looking forward to about the festival?

Oh that’s easy… touring, playing on huge stages, seeing other acts. playing to people who have never seen us and hoping to give our regular fans a highlight festival show.

What’s your favourite/least favourite festival experience?

Only ‘least favourite’ I can think of is not playing more festivals! Favourite’s are Main stage St Kilda Festival, sun setting over the beach as a backdrop and a sea of thousands’n’thousands of people out front. Also, as last band on at Warped tour on the Gold Coast, it’s pissing down and the show is running behind, they’ve gotta get everything to the next show so the crew are packing the stage up around us. We’re getting rained on, most of the stage was down before we finished and ran straight in to the bus to the next show.

SLASH feat. Myles Kennedy + The Conspirators and Steel Panther announce Soundwave Sidewaves

slash
A rock god that needs no introduction, but we’ll well and truly give him one anyway.

SLASH has been churning out some of the most iconic guitar riffs and solos in modern rock for more than three decades. A member of the Rock ‘N’ Roll Hall Of Fame for his role in the classic line-up of Guns N’ Roses and the spine-tingling opening riff he penned for the band’s trademark hit Sweet Child O’ Mine topped the list of ‘The 100 Greatest Riffs’ as voted by readers of UK’s Total Guitar magazine.

It’s always a good time playing on the big stages in front of festival audiences, and to be on a lineup with so many great bands is really an honour. We’ve also been in the US for most of the last 6 months, so I’m really looking forward to coming home to some good weather.

Soundwave Festival 2015 will be held over 2 days in each city

sw15_

From The Promoters (AJ Maddah) Twitter:

“Soundwave Festival 2015 will be held over 2 days in each city – Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney & Brisbane. Half the bands play day one. The other half play day two. They criss-cross Saturday/Sunday in each city.

Adelaide & Melbourne will be the 1st weekend of the festival. The dates for these two cities are Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 of February.

Sydney and Brisbane will be the 2nd weekend of the festival; held over Saturday 28 February and Sunday 1 March.

The ticket price for the 2 days will be the same as last year. $185 + booking fees. These will be limited in number. There will also be a number of day tickets available at $120 + booking fees.

We are hoping that offering day tickets will make the festival experience available to those who may not be able to afford weekend tickets. Putting the line-up across 2 days enables us to minimise clashes; give bands longer sets, better staging, production & infrastructure. We are also hoping that this will give fans better value for money and a less stressful day

The entire lineup will be announced at once and weekend tickets will then go on sale. The lineup will then be split into individual days when day tickets go on sale.

In recent years we have lost great bands over too many bands wanting to play after dark. This new set-up also gives us twice the dark!”
