After seven years of providing a distinctly domestic soundtrack to June long weekend, Come Together keeps its focus on showcasing the best of homegrown talent with an exciting new twist for its eighth incarnation. Come Together returns in 2011, for one day only on Saturday June 11th. |
We’ve revamped, refreshed, recharged, renovated and are ready to roll out the musical movers and shakers with an all Australian hip hop line-up set to have the Big Top jumping.
Lining up front and center & fresh from nailing down the highest ranked hip hop single at number 12 on the Triple J Hottest 100, is hip-hop artist on the rise Drapht. Hailing from Perth, Drapht emerged onto the scene alongside fellow WA heavy hitters Downsyde and Fdel and has since established himself as an MC on the up having polished his on-stage antics alongside the likes of the Hilltop Hoods, Dilated Peoples and Koolism amongst others.

Some invisible barrier seems to prevent punters from encroaching closer than five metres from where local Jud Campbell is punching out a solid set of folk-punk. Maybe he has cooties, because a little later everyone is crowding the stage’s edge as if to hear every muted note and whispered vocal in Wollard and Burns’ back-porch set. |
Stage’s edge is still too distant for Tim Barry. Early on, the American drops the lead from his acoustic and plays unplugged amidst the crowd, harnessing their enthusiasm for a sing-along full of roaring voices and grinning faces.

Arguably one of the most successful heavy metal bands around today, Disturbed have sold over 11 million albums globally and are one of only three bands in music history to have four consecutive releases debut at #1 on the US Billboard Top 200 album chart.
Since the band’s formation fifteen years ago, Disturbed have had three Platinum albums in Australia and a strong fourth contender in their latest offering Asylum which debuted at #2 on the ARIA Album Chart and #1 on New Zealand’s RIANZ Album Chart upon its release in August.

Dynamic Brisbane indie-dance/art-rock five-piece, Tin Can Radio, are celebrating the release of their debut Long-Player Chase the Sun, Hold the Night with a massive 20 date tour around metropolitan and regional Australia. The tour begins its west-cost leg on March 15, and spans over April and May of 2011. The album will be available for purchase in limited release during the tour, and in stores and on iTunes on APRIL 15. |
The debut album, Chase the Sun, Hold the Night, is the accumulation of two acclaimed single-releases and many hard months in the studio. The 11 track LP runs a knife edge between accessible and fun, and ambitious and sonically challenging; journeying through dreamy landscapes, sing-along hooks, punchy guitar driven riffs and grinding dubstep breakdowns. It features remastered and retouched versions of the first singles Hot Trash and Days to Dust, which were both featured and played in 2010 on Triple J radio, as well as standout live favourite and latest single, “Skeletons”.
