EVIL EDDIE ‘East Coast’ Tour – February | March 2011 [Tour News]

  After blitzing, wooing and sometimes insulting the crowds at the Peats Ridge and Woodford Festivals at the end of 2010 in what was his live solo debut, ex-Butterfingers front man Evil Eddie is set to hit the road again in February and March for a run of East Coast shows.

On the tour, which includes shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, Evil brings with him an all star Brisbane based backing band which boasts members of Butterfingers, Laneous and the Family Yah and Spitfireliar.

Since the release of his first single ‘Queensland’ at the end of last year, Eddie has been causing quite a stir around the country.

  Evil Eddie releases his debut solo single, ‘Queensland’.
With the song already added to rotation on triple j, the video for ‘Queensland’ is also causing quite a stir around the country. Complete with Gold Coast Meter Maids, bananas, crocodiles, and everything else quintessentially Queensland, the video has (not surprisingly) racked up quite a bit of online exposure, and was featured as Rage’s Indie Clip of the Week

Last night we saw Butterfingers and Avalon Drive in the first of the Nova Live and Loud @ Ekka series of concerts at the Brisbane Ekka.  These concerts are perfect in combination with an amazing array of activities and events that make the Brisbane Ekka such a magical experience.

Since releasing their first self titled EP in late 2004, Regurgitator has received national and international success touring the all over the world with particular success in Europe and Asia. Regurgitator has recorded their albums all over the world with their sixth and latest album Love and Paranoia recorded in Brazil. Indie Punk band Yves Klein Blue was the product of the four members love of Led Zeppelin forged in high school. Their current album Yves Klein Blue Draw Attention to Themselves was recorded in Brisbane and Byron Bay and was released in April this year.

To experience some of the best live music Australia has to offer this Labour Day long weekend, there’s only one place to be – The Caxton Street Seafood Festival.

This year’s Festival will be held on Sunday 4 May 2008, and along with delicious seafood, wine and beer, there’s a sight and sound for every musical palate.

There’s a massive amount of locally home-grown talent on offer including the likes of Nik Phillips, Nina May, DJ Jimmy Z, the infectiously manic Butterfingers and electro tinged rock band, Elation.

The eclectic mix also includes indie rocker Diana Anaid, jazz diva Grace Knight and trio and Sydney based hip hop and beats label, Urthboy.
