ARIA and PPCA appoint new Chief Executive

5 October 2010 (SYDNEY) – ARIA and PPCA are very pleased to announce the appointment of Dan Rosen as their new Chief Executive Officer.

Dan will commence in his new role on Monday 18th October at the ARIA and PPCA Sydney offices in Pyrmont.

Current CEO Stephen Peach will continue as a consultant through to December 31st to provide a full hand over and assist with a number of important items such as the ARIA Awards and PPCA court cases.

Dan Rosen has a deep understanding of the music industry from a decade working as a digital media executive, lawyer, policy adviser and recording artist. His passion for music saw he and his band Second Dan win the Triple J Unearthed competition in 2003, and he has since independently released two albums.

Moniters announce debut single ‘Exit The System’ & Official Launch Dates

Meet The Moniters – a sub indie dirty electro-rock 3 piece from Brisbane, Australia.


The Moniters – ‘Exit the System’ 		  The story so far is a fairly organic one: Comprising of frontman Jimi Lucas, drummer Matt Schrader and bassist Barney Gickel, the three band members met at a Killers concert when Jimi and Matt ran into Barney whom Matt already knew through some session work that they’d both collaborated on a few years earlier. They began demoing ideas up at Jimi’s place, with Jimi and Barney laying down ideas over sampled drums which Matt would then make his

changes across the top of. Once they had enough tracks together, they sent the demo’s down to Melbourne based producer Forrester Savell (Dead Letter Circus, Birds of Tokyo). Forrester, loving the tracks, asked the band to fly down to record them with him at sing sing south studios. Titled “Sex City Lovers” their resulting debut Ep is scheduled for 2011 release.

SECOND SYDNEY BIG DAY OUT JUST ANNOUNCED!!!

With the Wednesday, 26 January Sydney BDO tickets snapped up in record time a second Sydney BDO will now be added.

It’s only the third time in the Festival’s 19 year history that a second show has been staged in any city.

Fans can now attend the second Festival in Sydney, comprising the same bill, on THURSDAY, 27 JANUARY 2011
We a very thankful and proud of the continued popularity and support of the event which enables us to present an additional show in Sydney for the second year in a row.

LINKIN PARK – Australian Tour December 2010


Linkin – Linkin Park 		  Under the heat of the summer sun Linkin Park will reign over Australia this December, playing major arena shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

The tour follows the September 10 release of Linkin Park’s fourth studio album ‘A Thousand Suns’ on Machine Shop Recordings / Warner Music. Following on from their 2007 #1 album ‘Minutes to Midnight’, the album is co-produced by Rick Rubin and Mike Shinoda, and features 15-tracks, including lead single ‘The Catalyst’, currently tearing up Australian radio.

ZIGGY, THE SONGS OF DAVID BOWIE – November 2010

If there’s one pop artist that multiple generations can relate to its David Bowie. There’s always a tinge of nostalgia listening to Bowie’s mellifluous tones whether it is listening to the Man Who Fell To Earth, Thin White Duke, Aladdin Sane or of course The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust, which signified his ‘comeback’ in 1972 after a brief lull in his pop career.

RORY PHILLIPS – AUSTRALIAN EAST COAST TOUR, OCTOBER 2010

  Britain’s very own DJ/Producer whiz Rory Phillips is set to embark on a spring tour of Australia in October posting gigs in Oz’s three biggest cities – Sydney, Melbourne & Brisbane.

Best known for his iconic sets alongside Erol Alkan at London’s premier taste making nightspot Trash (R.I.P), his mutant-disco workouts at East London’s Our Disco and his main room slot at Trash’s successor Durrr, Rory Phillips’ unique style of awkward dance, forgotten post-punk classics and electronic oddities has seen him play to mass crowds across Europe, Asia and the USA.

STONEFEST 2010 – LINEUP CHANGES ANNOUNCED

On behalf of The Panics and Cloud Control, we regretfully announce that both bands will no longer be appearing at Stonefest 2010.

The Panics’ recording schedule has changed meaning they are now required back in the studio in the US during the end of October.

Cloud Control were very much looking forward to their first Stonefest appearance in October but unfortunately, following their recent signing to UK label Infectious Records, the band are now to embark on a European tour during this period.

In their places will be the incomparable Xavier Rudd and exciting newcomers Deep Sea Arcade.

Daniel Lee Kendall… will have you ‘Lost in the Moment’


Lost In the Moment - EP - Daniel Lee Kendall – Lost In the Moment – EP		   Daniel Lee Kendall, (DLK) a young outstanding singer songwriter from the Central Coast of New South Wales wooed crowds at the prestigious Big Sound Festival in Brisbane, that performance kicked off a short run of introductory live intimate performances by this newly discovered independent artist. The exceptionally talented singer song writer will be revealed nationwide via his debut EP ‘Lost In the Moment’ (out on Redcat Sounds via MGM on October 1st).

Discerning music lover’s ears are already primed with the title track from the EP added to the national youth broadcaster triple j last week. Daniel was Unearthed by triple j in July this year, and as part of the Unearthed program he won a spot on the popular Coaster Festival which takes place in Gosford later this month. RICHARD BONA Journeys to Australia – November 2010

  The electrifying Cameroonian bassist and singer Richard Bona is coming to Australia with his band for the very first time. This is destined to be a wonderful, genre-bending tour that takes in Sydney and Melbourne before finishing up at the famous Adelaide International Guitar Festival which is curated by Slava Grigoryan.

Richard’s band for his first Australian outing includes a handful of fine contemporary musicians – Etienne Declin Stadwijk on keyboards, Lee Tatum Greenblatt on trumpet, Jean Christophe Marie Maillard on guitar, and Ernesto Siverio Simpson on drums.
