@ Metro Theatre, Sydney

Feat. DAPPLED CITIES & SPOD
Supported by Last Dinosaurs, The Laurels, Guinea Fowl, Magnetic Heads, Fishing + whothehell DJ’s

Dress in your best ghoulish costume and get into the ‘spirit’ because Sydney’s premiere Halloween event, Halloween Monster Mash is back this October This is not a trick, it’s a treat

Following on from the successfully sold-out event last year, this exciting live music event will bring Sydney’s ghosts & goblins together for one night inside the make-shift bat cave (and Sydney’s most iconic local venue), The Metro, on Saturday 30th October.

Live Music will be abundant, turning The Metro into a living nightmare for the most unholy night on this years’ entertainment calendar. The Monster Mash music showcase is a unique concept and one that you would be ghoulish to miss (no pun intended), as all artists perform dressed as their favourite deceased band, opening their killer sets with a cover song from their chosen alter-egos.

This year, Monster Mash boasts an incredible local line up of Sydney’s most terrifyingly good acts. The Mash will don the likes of ARIA-nominated, jet-setting indie-rockers, Dappled Cities, who will bring their spooky blend of experimental pop to the proverbial table on what is set to be one of the most spine-chilling evenings of 2010. Hold onto the railings of the ghost train, because the evening will also boast the fangtastic talents of proclaimed unhinged pop-genius, SPOD. Queensland wunderkinds Last Dinosaurs will petrify with their delicious brand of indie juiciness almost good enough to sink your teeth into, whilst local darlings, The Laurels flock to the stage to seduce punters into a hypnotic state of pop comatose. Guineafowl will make your skin scrawl whilst Magnetic Heads satiate the cravings of even the most blood thirsty creatures. Beware, as up-and-comers, Fishing hook you in, whilst Whothehell DJ’s suck you dry for the remainder of your evening. Assuming you make it out alive.

In the theme of Halloween, the night will treat the uncanny crowd with an appropriately themed emcee, fire breathers, giant spiders, stand-up comics, Burlesque dancers, bobbing for apples and a human vending machine. Try not to scream as you witness the blood-curdling transformation of The Metro into a Halloween crazed spectacle, not to mention the opportunity to come dressed up as the scariest fiend of the night – ghosts, Satan, witches or Lindsey Lohan.
