The night unfolded with support act Fatai from Season 2 of The Voice Australia. She performed a variety of her own beautiful tunes proving she has the voice. She thanked Guy Sebastian for inviting her to tour with him and reflected on what an amazing opportunity it was. At the conclusion of her final song she got the fans pumped up and ready to go. “Who’s excited to see Guy tonight?” she cried! The crowd went wild and they were ready for a night full of madness.

Live Review: Stone Music Festival Day 2 – ANZ Stadium, Sydney – April 21, 2013

If Stone Music Festival’s first day was a salute to rock then day two proved a little more difficult to pigeonhole. The bill included an American piano man, two elder statesmen of Oz music, a new band and two former Australian Idol contestants. I suppose we’ll just have to say that this unlikely grouping meant that this was a celebration of music, pure and simple.
L.A. band, Illumination Road is a duo that was making their worldwide, live debut. The pair had three additional musicians on hand and they played rock music which took its reference points from some of the greats from the golden period in the sixties and seventies. “What We Say” closed the set and had a decent tune and with time these guys look poised to be ones to watch.

After an exciting lead-up to the 2010 ARIA Awards that has seen the presentation of sixteen ARIA ‘Genre’ Awards, four ARIA Artisan Awards and the induction of five bona fide music legends at a heartfelt ARIA Hall of Fame event, ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association) is proud to announce the final winners of the 2010 ARIA Awards season.
Before a capacity audience comprised of members of industry heavy weights and music fans, the final eleven ARIA Awards were presented in style at a dazzling event at Australia’s most iconic venue – the Sydney Opera House on Sunday 7 November 2010 (broadcast on Network Ten).
Capping off an extraordinary year, brother / sister act ANGUS & JULIA STONE have taken out the much coveted ARIA Award in the category of ALBUM OF THE YEAR. ANGUS & JULIA STONE have also won the ARIA Award in the category of SINGLE OF THE YEAR for Big Jet Plane, a beautifully understated song with a dreamy string arrangement that has captured hearts. Susan Boyle continues to move from strength to strength on the ARIA Album Chart, achieving a fourth consecutive week at number one with her debut album “I Dreamed A Dream”, selling over 100,000 units and chalking up the fourth highest sales week since 1997, when ARIA began compiling charts using electronically scanned sales data. Only Guy Sebastian in 2003, Shannon Noll in 2004 and Damian Leith in 2006 have sold more albums in a single week in this time. The album has been certified six times platinum since its release, placing it on track to become one of the biggest selling albums of the year. Ke$ha’s hit track “Tik Tok” claims its seventh straight week at the top of the ARIA Singles and Digital Track Charts, placing it on par with Flo Rida’s “Right Round”, The Black Eyed Peas’ “I Gotta Feeling” and “Sexy Bitch” from David Guetta as one of the year’s longest running number one singles – one more week at the top will give Ke$ha the longest running No.1 single of 2009.

Ke$ha takes out top spot on ARIA Singles and Digital Track Chart as Foo Fighters blast to No.1 on ARIA Album Chart…
US pop starlet Ke$ha blitzes the ARIA Singles Chart this week with her smash hit “Tik Tok”, knocking The Black Eyed Peas from the top of the chart to land her first individual ARIA No.1 single. She hit No.1 on the singles chart earlier this year as a featured artist on Flo Rida‘s “Right Round”, which spent a huge seven weeks at the top back in February, March and April. The Foo Fighters claim their fourth Australian No.1 album on the ARIA Album Chart with the debut of their highly anticipated “Greatest Hits”. The first Foo Fighters album to debut at peak position was “One By One” in October 2002, followed by “In Your Honour” which lasted five weeks at the summit in 2005, and most recently “Echoes, Silence, Patience And Grace” which held the top spot for a week in October 2007.

The Black Eyed Peas return to the top of the ARIA Singles Chart for the third time this year, with the hot tune “’Meet Me Halfway” landing its first week at number one, bringing their tally of Australian No.1 singles up to seven and giving them a total of twenty-eight chart topping weeks. Only Madonna, Kylie Minogue and Delta Goodrem have achieved more number ones in the history of the ARIA Charts, with Madonna and Kylie scoring ten each and Delta just behind with eight. Vanessa Amorosi, Michael Buble and P!nk top ARIA Charts on debut this week!
Vanessa Amorosi swoops on top spot on the ARIA Singles Chart this week with her hit “This Is Who I Am”, scoring her first ever No.1 single and at the same time, ending the seven-week chart topping run of David Guetta‘s “Sexy Bitch” (feat. Akon). It’s the first single to hit No.1 on debut since Flo Rida‘s “Right Round” back in February, and only the second to have achieved this feat in the past twenty-two months. “This Is Who I Am” becomes Vanessa’s fifth ARIA top 10 single, surpassing the No.4 peaks achieved by “Shine” in 2000 and “Perfect” in 2008. Vanessa also becomes the first Aussie artist to claim simultaneous No.1’s on the ARIA Physical and Digital Track Charts since “Sweet About Me” from Gabriella Cilmi in June 2008.

The Black Eyed Peas return to the top of the ARIA Album Chart as David Guetta continues to dominate the ARIA Singles Chart
The Black Eyed Peas blast up the ARIA Album Chart this week as their hit record “The E.N.D.” returns to the top for the third time, coinciding with their massive Australian tour. It reached No.1 on debut in June and again in August, staying in place for a week on both occasions. The last album to have three separate stints at the top of the album chart was Kings Of Leon’s “Only By The Night”. David Guetta’s “Sexy Bitch” (featuring Akon) holds at the top of the ARIA Singles Chart, racking up a massive seven weeks and joining Flo Rida’s “Right Round” and “I Gotta Feeling” from The Black Eyed Peas as the longest running chart-topping singles of 2009.

Paramore tops ARIA Album Chart on debut & David Guetta continues his reign on the ARIA Singles Chart
US rock outfit Paramore blitzes the ARIA Album Chart this week, taking out top position with the debut of their third studio album “Brand New Eyes”. This caps off a successful year for the band; their first Australian chart album “Riot!” reached #69 on its first appearance in 2007 but hit a new peak of #47 in June this year while live album “The Final Riot!”, which was released in 2008, also hit its peak position of #38 earlier this year. Continuing his domination of the ARIA Singles Chart is David Guetta, who chalks up a massive six weeks at the top in his second three-week stint with “Sexy Bitch” (featuring Akon).
