Lëura releases new single ‘Shallows’
Purveyor of ambient heartbreak folk-prog, Sydney based solo artist Lëura returns with her highly anticipated second single ‘Shallows’. The poetic sweetheart left airwaves reeling after the widespread acclaim of debut single ‘Drifter’, which received substantial support from triple j and community radio, and praise from heavyweight online press across the UK, Canada and Europe.
Pushing forward off this wave of success, ‘Shallows’ paints a heart-wrenching representation of helplessly watching a loved one slowly drown in depression, whilst simultaneously sinking into the illness yourself. Lyrically, the ballad also echoes the complex agony of unrequited love, where both sides end up unintentionally pulling each other under. “And I sink trying to swim to you / I’m sorry if I sink you too”.

Ezekiel Ox releases hard-hitting new single ‘Policeman’
Ezekiel Ox has never been one to mince his words. From an early age, he learnt that when we see injustice, we point it out, and fight it. He is not a man on the sidelines. Ox fights through his music and poetry but also through his actions on the street as a busker and activist and a voice in and for the community and country he lives in.
Every musical project he has fronted, has acted as a vehicle for protest lyrics and used as a platform to inform and incite. His solo music career so far has been short, but no different.

To be exact, on the 21st of July 2014 the middle-aged yet brilliant trio will celebrate the 30th anniversary of their inaugural public appearance. In 1984, on that day, the multiracial band of bare-chested teenage misfits climbed onto a pub stage for the first time. It is fair to say, they have not looked back.

Propagandhi “You Call That A Knife?” Australian Tour 2014 – Supports Announced
Touring Australia for the first time since the brutal Failed States album was released in 2012, Propagandhi bring their celebrated and feared combination of punk rock and melodic hardcore to ten shows in nine cities this May/June!
Their first release on Epitaph Records, Failed States willfully careens between brazen metallic tendencies and the ragged punk rock roots of Propagandhi’s earlier work, further raising the lyrical and musical bar set by their critically-acclaimed 2009 release, Supporting Cast(e). One of the band’s most forward thinking and musically varied albums to date, Failed States reaffirms the Canadian four piece as not only one of the most consistently innovative bands musically, but as a damning voice in socio-political affairs.

Words and Pics by Ben Hosking – www.hoskingindustries.com.au
It’s a fittingly chilly evening in Sydney for Finnish metallers Children of Bodom. The pale-skinned shred-tastic troupe from the North country probably blew right into town on the cold wind that’s brought with it a motley crew of fans from all over like some kind of Pied Piper.

Megan Cooper to perform at Black Bear Lodge, Brisbane – 18 May 2014
Brisbane singer songwriter Megan Cooper brings her band The Pretty Pennies to the Black Bear Lodge, Brisbane on 18 May 2014 to mark the release of ‘27 Degrees’, the second single from her acclaimed debut album Ghosts Choirs & Kings.
Winning over critics since the album release with her self-penned mix of vintage country, bluegrass and rootsy blues, the first single ‘Virginia Fall’ has been receiving national airplay. However, it is live where Cooper seals the deal with “one of the most striking voices in Australian Country” (Noel Mengel, Courier Mail). Cooper’s delivery spans the quirky to the high lonesome, with the added sweetner of the Pretty Pennies rich harmonies.
Mixing with the finest of fellow Brisbane songwriters, Cooper will be supported by Harmony James and Jen Mize (Breaking Hart Benton), both on the verge of releasing brand new albums, in what promises to be one stellar night of hometown, alt-country goodness.
