Anathema played their first ever Australian show to a welcoming and receptive audience at the HiFi Bar in Brisbane’s West End on Thursday night. Any doubts about their Australian fan base would have been quickly swept away as the crowd soaked up the power and intensity of their music and joined them in singing along with songs recently released as well as from albums produced many years ago. Yes Anathema, you have many fans here, and we hope you won’t wait so long to visit us again.

Frontier Touring have announced they are bringing Jimmy Eat World back to Australia and New Zealand this November in celebration of the ten year anniversary of their iconic album Futures’ release.
After the band’s appearance Down Under earlier this year for a run of very successful festival sets, fans have been hanging for more.
The Australian and New Zealand leg of the tour immediately follows a massive run of US dates in commemoration of the pivotal album. The Futures 10 Year Anniversary Tour will kick off in Auckland before crossing the ditch to visit all Australian capital cities and sees the band performing their pivotal album from front to back.

The Blurst Of Times Festival is back for 2014 for a massive day of live music! Part 1 of this year’s lineup, taking over The Brightside, The Brightside carpark and The Zoo on October 18, 2014.
After the maiden event in 2013, punters can venture to the deep dark depths of Fortitude Valley to see 30 of the best current acts across punk, rock, hardcore and jangly pop.
The second lineup announcement will come on September 8, but tickets are on sale NOW from Oztix!

Brisbane Fringe Festival: Monster #1 Attack of the Crab Monsters
Take some of Brisbane’s most accomplished musicians. Smash them together into a make-shift outfit. Tell them to play the score to a muted black and white sci-fi film live in front of an audience. That’s precisely what is happening with MONSTER – a series where locals perform a live soundtrack to films. The inaugural edition involves the 1957 film Attack of the Crab Monsters. The band features Ian Haug (Powderfinger, The Church), Jackie Marshall, Chris Perren (Mr Maps, Nonsemble), Hik Sugimoto (almost every band in Brisbane), Sallie Campbell (every other band in the world), Ed Guglielmino and more – playing a score and libretto by Shêm Allen (Skinny Jean). This all-ages show promises to be a thrilling new take on the possibilities of live music in the Brisbane community.
