Following the release of his debut album ‘Broken Bones’ and with an upcoming tour with Powderfinger’s Darren Middleton kicking off on in January 2015, Guy Pearce took time out to chat with LifeMusicMedia.com
First of all, congratulations on the successful release of your debut album – Broken Bones. Is it a relief to, not only have the album out but see so many people enjoying it as well?
Thank you! Yes, absolutely . ‘Tis quite weird too as I’ve been making music my whole life really on some level or other.
Are you happy with the response the album has received?
Yes I think so. I know there are lots of people though, who still cringe at another actor releasing music so I still have to face that but generally the response has been one of positive surprise

Tour News – Guy Pearce and Darren Middleton announce ‘Broken / Translations’ Tour
Hot on the heels of his two sold out album launch shows, Guy Pearce will join forces with Powderfinger’s Darren Middleton for an upcoming ‘Broken / Translations’ double headline tour. The run of shows will kick off in Bendigo on Saturday 31 January and will see the travelling troubadours take on the east coast and Adelaide Fringe, finishing off in Guy’s old hometown at Geelong Performing Arts Centre on Saturday 28 February.
It’s an unexpected collaboration, yet it makes so much sense.
Two Aussie legends, each entering their own new career phase, Pearce and Middleton are set to hit the road in early 2015.

To welcome in the New Year, it was time to visit The Domain for an experience like no other for a little festival known as Field Day. Built upon a great line-up that blends international superstars with homegrown heroes, there is no better way to start the year than partying along to your favourite hits of 2014, with new and old friends.
With a blaring sun beating down upon a sea of hung-over punters, many took refuge in the shade as they checked out the earlier offerings of the festival. Unearthed winner Moon Holiday eased onlookers with her blend of wisp vocals and chilled tones.

What do you get when you combine one of Australia’s best front men in the past 15 years and a former lead singer of a well-known international punk/rock band? Well on Sunday night the smell of sweat from long time music fans was obvious in the air as this question was answered. Phil Jamieson lead singer of Australian band Grinspoon and Scott Russo the Unwritten Law front man brought their acoustic Christmas extravaganza to the Novocastrians. Jamieson and Russo were first introduced to each other’s talent on the 1999 Warped Tour. They have remained close mates since.

Live Review – Dead Letter Circus + Sleepmakeswaves at Metro Theatre, Sydney – December 19, 2014

What a way to close out the gigging year: a headlining shot from Dead Letter Circus at Sydney’s venerable Metro Theatre, supported by sleepmakeswaves. Sydney’s 4-piece instrumental act sleepmakeswaves are an interesting proposition, given the lack of a front person. Yet despite the unconventional post-rock style, in the vein of recent acts like Scale the Summit and Russian Circles, the band is keeping the audience’s attention easily – no doubt via their combination of soaring crescendos and delicate, intricate twin-guitar interplay. Tonight is certainly the perfect Aussie prog’ tonic for a hard, working year.
