Live Review : Tedeschi Trucks Band at Palms Casino Resort, Las Vegas – June 9, 2015

When you think of Las Vegas thoughts of gambling and the chance of winning *or loosing* it all in the Sin City come to mind. Whilst for some this maybe a reality for others they search for more in this town and you don’t have to look far to discover the plethora of music that visits the city on a daily basis. On Tuesday night the Tedeschi Trucks Band rolled into town for one night as part of their “Wheels Of Soul” tour. Playing to a sellout crowd at “The Pearl” the show carried plently of grind in relation to the power of the voice and musicians. Opening act Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings plus Doyle Bramhall II rocked the house proving just what the crowd needed to kick off the evening. Sharon Jones brought her high powered voice combined with a healthy dose of attitude to the house. Jones backed by a 10 piece band communicated candidly with the audience even discussing her personal battles with cancer. Nothing was going to stop her and the voice alone powered throughout the house.

Critically acclaimed music duo MS MR (Lizzy Plapinger and Max Hershenow) are heading back our way for Splendour 2015!
It’s only been a few weeks since they dropped “Painted,” the brand new single from their highly anticipated forthcoming album, set for release in July! Mark Ronson, Mr Uptown Funk, is on his way to Australia to headline the sold out Splendour In The Grass Festival and ‘Uptown Special’ sideshow tour dates in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. And as the man himself revealed to triple j’s Veronica and Lewis on Friday, these shows are shaping up to be straight masterpiece!
Currently in rehearsal, this live show has been created especially for these Australian tour dates. Ronson’s Uptown Special Tour will see him hit the stage with a full live band including drums, keyboard, a brass section, backup singers and a crazy list of guest vocalists including Kevin Parker (Tame Impala), Daniel Merriweather, Andrew Wyatt (Miike Snow), Theophilus London and Keyone Starr.
Renowned for having an ear to the ground wherever he ventures, Ronson has personally curated a killer lineup of Australian acts to warm up the stage at all venues.
