By Connor Blythe
KISS is one of the most legendary Rock’n’Roll bands in history, touring all over the world since 1973. KISS is now Down Under for their 40th anniversary in which they toured Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney, Newcastle and Queensland. Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons originally formed the band in the early 1970s and have rocked on through the ages with visually spectacular light shows and dramatic stage productions. Tonight’s show at The Brisbane Entertainment Centre was jam packed out with a sea of elaborate outfits and painted faces.

Splendour In The Grass 2015 – Review
Day 0 – Splendour in the Mud
Gumboots ☑
Ponchos ☑
Preparedness for the onslaught of Mud ☐
That last one was a miserable oversight on my behalf, after what seemed like the cruisiest drive from Melb to the Splendour site, we were all greeted with a battleground of punters who were already covered in a layer of muddy sludge. After begrudgingly setting up camp in the rain it was into the site we went.
Our tents may have been wet, but our spirits were not dampened,

Keith Urban Plays to 90,000 people in Ohio – June 21, 2015
Ohio University Stadium home of the Ohio Buckeyes football team, the current undisputed national champions. The stadium itself holds over 105,000 and is one of the biggest in the USA. So what has that got to do do with Keith Urban you might ask? On Sunday I got to witness one of country music’s biggest on stage in front of 90,000 crazy fans. Urban was booked as a headliner at the inaugural Ohio Buckeye Music Festival held over the weekend in Columbus Ohio.

Live Review : Jebediah + Adalita at The Corner Hotel, Richmond – June 18, 2015
Review by Ben Connolly
In a different universe, a Jebediah of 20 years ago probably would have been a short term affair. It’s gangly awkward pop punk probably would have survived the ubiquitous relocation from its original Western Australian outpost to the big smoke of the East, but it would have been no doubt an indiefied square peg in a mainstream round hole.

LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION!
Sydney boys 5 Seconds of Summer kicked off their first ever headline Australian arena show last night at Allphones Arena in Sydney on a high. Thousands of screaming teenage fans filled the arena for their favourite band to take the stage. As the screen was raised their appeared Ashton who opened the show solo on a drum riser getting the crowd ready before his band mates joined him. Opening their sold out show with their upbeat hit End Up Here had their fans go wild from the get go. From that moment the audience knew they were in for a spectacular night.

Live Review : Tedeschi Trucks Band at Palms Casino Resort, Las Vegas – June 9, 2015
Review and photos by David Jackson – sbj.rocks
When you think of Las Vegas thoughts of gambling and the chance of winning *or loosing* it all in the Sin City come to mind. Whilst for some this maybe a reality for others they search for more in this town and you don’t have to look far to discover the plethora of music that visits the city on a daily basis. On Tuesday night the Tedeschi Trucks Band rolled into town for one night as part of their “Wheels Of Soul” tour. Playing to a sellout crowd at “The Pearl” the show carried plently of grind in relation to the power of the voice and musicians. Opening act Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings plus Doyle Bramhall II rocked the house proving just what the crowd needed to kick off the evening. Sharon Jones brought her high powered voice combined with a healthy dose of attitude to the house. Jones backed by a 10 piece band communicated candidly with the audience even discussing her personal battles with cancer. Nothing was going to stop her and the voice alone powered throughout the house.

Ecca Vandal is first on the bill tonight, and it’s easy to see why she has been causing a stir of late. From the moment the band step on stage, they demand your immediate attention – blurring the lines between hip-hop, hardcore punk and an 80s rave.

Live Review : Nickelback at Newcastle Entertainment Centre – May 23, 2015
Review by David Jackson – sbj.rocks
Nickelback keep it loud and personal during their Newcastle leg of the No Fixed Address world tour.
I guess the opening song said it all “Million Miles an Hour”. This was the speed Nickelback took to the stage and to the audience during the Newcastle stopover of their No fixed Address World Tour. “Newcastle, what are the chances of landing here on a Saturday night” one of the many interactions lead singer Chad Kroeger had with the audience during their powerful 20 song set. This was the second time the Canadian rockers had visited the city in the past 5 years, this time it was on the back of their eighth studio album No Fixed Address.

Live Review : Mötley Crüe ‘The Final Tour’ with Alice Cooper at Brisbane Entertainment Centre – May 19, 2015
Review and photos by Stuart Blythe
The Brisbane Entertainment Centre was packed to the rafters with eager fans coming out to farewell MOTLEY CRUE on their last ever stop in Brisbane as part of ‘The Final Tour’. And opening for Motley Crue was none other than the master of macabre theatrical rock ALICE COOPER.
With a cut down set time of only 50 minutes, Alice and his band waste no time kicking off their set with gritty anthemic classics Department of Youth and No More Mr. Nice Guy. By the time we hit the third song Under My Wheels the crowd is singing, jumping and primed for more.
