Motörhead Australian Tour 2011 – [Tour News]

RED ANT TOURING PROUDLY PRESENTS
“Everything Louder Than Everything Else”
Motörhead return to Australia to raise hell in the service of rock ‘n roll in 2011.

“Lemmy is a God. He is the reason. He is the last man standing and no one comes close” – Dave Grohl

Motörhead play – correction – Motörhead ARE loud, fast, dirty, bluesy rock ‘n roll with an unrivaled, ruthless attitude; obnoxious yet dignified. For over 35 years the band has maintained their strong hold as a force of unrelenting sonic power, pounding their music into the ear drums of audiences all over the world; reducing the masses into exhausted, sweat soaked, tinnitus-suffering submission, and leaving them begging for more.

The band has uniquely pioneered both heavy metal and punk rock, and is revered by aficionados of both genres. Theirs is a sound and a way of being that sees their fan base continue to grow year after year, and that has rightfully solidified Motörhead as living legends of hard rock.

URIAH HEEP ‘EAVY BRITISH ROCK LEGENDS RETURN ‘DOWNUNDA’ IN 2011 WITH A GREATEST HITS TOUR

It’s been over 25 years since the legendary Uriah Heep have played on Australian soil. In that time we’ve witnessed a lot of changes to our musical landscape: the birth, death and rebirth of trends, musical marriages and mix-ups, assassinations and cultural revolutions, and of course the dawn of the digital age. Through all of this, Uriah Heep has ensured at least one constant on the horizon – a hard, heavy rock band that continues to deliver.

The Beautiful Girls ‘My Mind is an Echo Chamber’ Australian Summer Tour – Jan 2011 [Tour News]

‘My Mind is an Echo Chamber’ was a song title before it was a song. The music comes from a love of dancehall and dub… punk rock and a sense of longing… distorted guitars and analog synths…the good kind…the kind with the broken faders. It’s King Tubby and Barrington Levy booming from a ghetto blaster set up on the side of an empty pool. It’s Scratch Perry lacing up his chucks and eating a burrito con pollo with lyrics from a Morrissey song swimming in his brain. Tape echoes, blue horns and skittering drums.

‘My Mind is an Echo Chamber’ is the third single off The Beautiful Girls fourth record Spooks . Following in the footsteps of its high rotation predecessors ‘Don’t Wait’ and ‘10:10’.

U2 @ Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane w/ Jay Z – 8 December 2010 – Live Review

The crush down Caxton St at five pm begins the stadium size spectacle that will be U2 and Jay-Z tonight. By the time Jay-Z takes the stage at 6.30pm, the standing room ticket area is already mostly full. Jay-Z lives up to his hype, resplendent in Gangsta Garb, sunglasses welded to his face, rap antics peppered throughout his set, a ten piece accompaniment to his words provided by drumming, saxophone, trumpet and keyboard among others. He’s playing early, to an audience mostly waiting to see a main act distinctly different in style. He copes well with this, managing to get hands in the air and ladies spinning clothes above their heads during the one hour set. ‘On to the Next One’ and ’99 Problems’ get the crowd going, and ‘Forever Young’, covered in an ode to Notorious B.I.G, is also popular. Throughout the set the bass is massive, pummeling the throat, rattling hearts against rib cages. He exits the stadium in a stretch golf buggy.

Suicidal Tendencies – Australian tour announced for May 2011!

SUICIDAL TENDENCIES were never afraid of a little controversy. The godfathers of crossover thrash and creators of skate punk have dedicated their careers to delivering the middle finger salute to anyone who opposed their views (which included LA authorities who banned them for playing in the city for 6 years)

Playing their irrepressible blend of punk, thrash, funk and hardcore, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES are certainly true to their ideals of ‘no rules.’ Mike Muir’s extreme sincerity and full of rage ravings have garnered the ST Army the world over. “In typical fashion the band was explosive in their playing with Mike running all over the stage delivering his lines. The whole building seemed to shake with everyone screaming as one.” – Metal Army

Unbelievably influential, without SUICIDAL TENDENCIES you would not have the myriad of thrash metal and vicious hard-core bands that permeate the modern musical landscape. Delivering the fast-paced, aggressive and raw sound they pioneered, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES will be getting Cyco on their Australian tour next May…ST….ST….ST….ST!
