Hair, heat and hunger were the flavour of the weekend at the inaugural Meatstock held at Sydney showgrounds on the 13th and 14th of February 2016. Capitalising on the increasing worldwide trend of BBQ’s and the art of grilling, Meatfest incorporated all the best that a carnivore could want, BBQ’s, beards, butchers, barbers, beers and bands. Too put it simple what more could a fella want for his Valentine’s weekend?

GINGERFEST – Second Line-Up Announcement!

gingerfest The hardworking organisers of December’s inaugural GINGERFEST fundraising mini-festival are simply stoked to unveil the second batch of acts on their bumper punk rock line-up. With tickets already selling fast for this most important and tantalising of events, these additions will surely spell a full house.

Gingerfest is an exceptional and highly anticipated all day event conceptualised in memory of Canberra man Nicholas Sofer-Schreiber, who was tragically murdered in late 2013. Known widely and affectionately as ‘The Ginger Ninja’, Nicholas was a long-time and much loved stalwart of the Canberra punk rock community. A cooperative of Sofer-Schreiber’s friends from all corners of the punk rock community have banded together to raise vital funds for Vision Australia in his name, through GINGERFEST.

Bluesfest 2011 – Day Four, Featuring: The Blind Boys of Alabama, Irma Thomas, Mavis Staples & Her Band, and The Snowdroppers. – Live Review

It was Easter Sunday, the sun was shining over Bluesfest and the Crossroads tent was gearing up to celebrate with a solid block of gospel, soul and blues, kicked off by the enigmatic, effervescent powerhouse Mavis Staples and Her Band.

This year’s festival boasted an array of music a legends, not least of which was the incomparable Staples, who either solo or together with The Staple Singers has been >performing for over 60 years. Returning to Bluesfest with material from her Grammy Award winning CD You Are Not Alone, Staples is loads of fun. She’s got the moves, she’s got the attitude and that voice – a rich, raw, rip your guts out and make you happy sound that only improves with age.

Bluesfest from Byron Bay, Australia’s favourite counter-culture, family-orientated, artistically diverse music festival, today unveiled its SECOND artist announcement – and what an array it is of classic and contemporary blues, soul, funk, reggae and much more!

Tickets are on sale for Bluesfest, the 2010 Australian Event of the Year, and are selling very fast. The festival dates next year over Easter are from Thursday April 21 through to Monday April 25, 2011.

Bluesfest 2010 wraps up its 21st Birthday

Bluesfest 2010 wraps up its 21st Birthday with the world’s finest musicians and approx 80,000 fans

April 6th 2010 – Last night at the Tyagarah Tea Tree farm 12 minutes north of Byron Bay, five incredible days of blues and roots music from all over Australia and the world drew to a close, capping off a 21st Anniversary birthday party of infectiously good music and signature Bluesfest spirit.

Blessed with glorious sunshine and the occasional cooling shower, approximately 80,000 fans from 30 different countries walked through the entry gates over five days of blues, rock and roll, alt-country, world, soul, reggae, funk, Latino and roots music.
