This year’s All At Once campaign will focus on supporting non-profit groups and engaging fans in the realms of Sustainable Local Food Systems and Plastic Free Initiatives. As in 2008, Jack Johnson will donate 100% of his tour profits to charity and tour proceeds will go to these groups to support their projects. Visit www.AllAtOnce.org for additional information.

Evermore ‘The Truth Of The World’ Tour 2009

Consider everything you think you know about Evermore. Run through their history, of brothers Jon, Peter and Dann Hume growing up in the rural New Zealand town of Feilding and finding their feet as musicians. Reflect on their breakthrough 2004 debut Dreams and its beautifully crafted follow-up, 2006’s Real Life, selling platinum and double platinum. Look at their six ARIA Award nominations, two NZ Music Awards, Channel [V] and MTV gongs, and the high esteem in which music fans and peers hold them. Gather those thoughts for a moment – then get ready to be blown away.

“It’s the album we’ve been wanting to make since we started the band,” says singer and guitarist Jon, 25. “It’s a concept album that takes inspiration from trashy media and political propaganda, and turns it into a fun, over the top rock’n‘roll show.”

CAO FEI – UTOPIA (Visual Arts)

Utopia Second Life is a lab, a world lab, but it consists in a huge global economic system. It brings us business and democracy, at the same time with feelings and culture. We can’t avoid capitalism’s wave; at the same time, we can’t avoid Communist aspirations in our heart. This world is not only dualistic, we’re inconsistent. Communism is our Utopia, Second Life is our E-topia . . . SL is our mirror, it tells us the truth.—Cao Fei

Lincoln and Austin Field of Vision (Visual Arts)

Lincoln Austin Field of Vision Lincoln Austin’s abstract sculptures meld the interests of minimalism and op art to explore the ways regular, repeated forms can generate optical illusions and effects.

The Ipswich-based artist is known for his small, intricate works, but this will change with the imminent opening of Brisbane’s new building, Northbridge, which features his massive wall relief, Once Again.

Headkase CD Launch The Worm County Circus with special guests Devilution and The Kidney Thieves @ Rosie’s – 8 May 2009 : Live Review

by Lisa Lamb

The Kidney Thieves are a positive energy fix combining funk, rock, phychedlic and tribal metal with anti-pop tunes like Dance Town Show Down, guaranteed to get the keep the audience moving. They are talented and very comical with a passion for ludicrous song titles such as Sex Panther, Online Pelvis & the Exotic Juicer, Battle worm (escapes from Doom) etc and great stage names like Captain Chrispy Booyah and Crafty J.

Lead singer Jack Muzak is the lord of charisma, looking like a modern day Jack Sparrow. He promises to take the audience on a journey to fuzzy tinkle town via his keyboard which he also shares with Travis also known as Travesty, Intravenous and occasionally John Travolta.
