Operator Please today announce a national tour to introduce brand new material from their hotly anticipated sophomore album ‘Gloves’.
The tour will hit all major capital cities throughout June kicking off in Perth on Friday June 18 before heading to Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane with a homecoming show on the Gold Coast, Saturday July 3. All shows will be supported by Triple J un-earthed favourites Tim & Jean from Western Australia and also Sydney’s Chaingang.
These shows will be the band’s first headline dates since September 2008. Fans can expect to see a very different side to a band that has grown in confidence on the live circuit having spent 12 months across 2008 touring throughout UK, Europe and Japan.
The new album ‘Gloves’ is released in multiple formats in Australia and digital only internationally on April 23.
This new record captures the gruelling and glamorous sides of day after day stuck in vans, playing festivals such as Splendour in the Grass, Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds Festival, The Secret Garden Party, touring and working with the likes of Kaiser Chiefs, Arctic Monkeys and Lightspeed Champion.
