GREAT SOUTHERN BLUES FESTIVAL 2010 – Side Shows!

GREAT SOUTHERN BLUES FESTIVAL 2010 SIDE SHOWS ANNOUNCED!

After the being included on the stellar line up of the Great Southern Blues Festival, taking place in Batemans Bay from Friday 1 to Sunday 3 October 2010, two of the acts have joined forces to co-headline 3 very special sideshows.

Returning to Oz will be the charismatic and hugely talented RICK ESTRIN & THE NIGHTCATS. Rick, who ranks among the very best harmonica players in the world, will be joined by long time Nightcats members J Hansen, Lorenzo Farrell and fiery guitarist Kid Anderson to bring you a blues sound that is harmonica-driven, rocking, guitar-fueled rave-up.

CEDRIC BURNSIDE & LIGHTNIN’ MALCOLM come from a new generation of blues greats, playing with a relentless and highly rhythmically charged style featuring hip-hop and funk influences. Grandson of RL Burnside and son of Calvin Jackson, Cedric Burnside’s incredible talent as a powerhouse drummer and strong vocalist are fitting for his legendary musical heritage. Lightnin’ Malcolm, an in- demand session player with a telepathic sense of how to play archaic styles, has joined up with Burnside to create a duo who are bringing new life and energy to the blues.

This incredible tour will start at Melbourne’s Corner Hotel on Wednesday 29 September, before hitting the stage at The Gov in Adelaide’s on Thursday 30 September and ending on Friday 1 October at The Basement in Sydney.
