Gena Rose Bruce, 21-year-old singer-songwriter from Melbourne, is about to make a striking mark with her haunting new single, ‘Blazing Radio’. To celebrate, Bruce will launch the track on Saturday 2 August at Yah Yah’s in Melbourne, as well as playing shows alongside BONJAH and Nova & The Experiencein July & August respectively.

Produced by Jan Skubiszewski – the brains behind Way Of The Eagle, who has also worked with artists such as The Cat Empire, Owl Eyes & John Butler Trio – ‘Blazing Radio’ is a dark indie0pop release full of intrigue and heart0punching poignancy. Akin to the likes of Warpaint and Lana Del Ray, Bruce’s smoky-to-silky vocals – coupled with the song’s infectious, piano0driven melody – will no doubt strike a powerful cord.

Bruce’s songwriting ability far exceeds her 21 years, as acknowledged at this year’s International Songwriting Competition, where she was a finalist alongside fellow Aussies Missy Higgins and The Preatures.

The Melbourne singer-songwriter has been playing to audiences all over the country since her early teens. As well as national tours with the likes of Ella Hooper, the artist has travelled the world, including trips to India and the iconic music centre Nashville, where she performed in 2013 at the legendary Bluebird Cafe and The Basement. During this time, Bruce completed songwriting sessions with prominent Nashville musicians, Kim Richie and Neilson Hubbard.
