The Caxton Street Seafood & Wine Festival celebrates its 20th Anniversary on Sunday 8th June with a ravishing selection of seafood, street food, wine and music. What began as a few humble street stalls some two decades ago has become one of Queensland’s most charitable and attended community events. Immerse yourself in the sights, sounds and tastes of Queensland’s premier street party, and help Caxton Street blow out twenty candles over the Queen’s Birthday Long Weekend.
Grammy Award Winners and internationally acclaimed, Wolfmother, will headline Caxton Street’s Music Menu, alongside rockabilly royalty Slim Jim Phantom (Stray Cats), direct from Brooklyn. Killing Heidi front woman and Spicks & Specks darling Ella Hooper is on deck as are Aussie new wave icons Eurogliders. Brisbane’s own Sheppard, local boy and ARIA Award winner Tyrone Noonan (George) and in demand electronic percussionists Pludo round out what is an impressive first line up. Not to be outdone, the Caxton Street cuisine department have said “hello sailor” to the sumptuous and succulent, the delicious and delectable, the divine and downright tasty morsels of street food, seafood, wine and craft ales available. Featuring BEKO cooking demonstrations across the afternoon, a wine list curated by none other than Sirromet Wines and abundance of high quality, street and seafood; the variety and full flavour you have come to expect from Caxton Street will be there for all palettes in attendance.
