Nova & The Experience – New Single + Tour Dates

Nova Shipwrecked 2Indie pop favourites Nova & The Experience have just announced a nine-date East Coast tour, to promote the release of their new single ‘Shipwrecked’.

‘Shipwrecked’ is the last song off N.A.T.E’s latest EP – ‘There’s Something Here’. The song helps to round off the loose narrative that was told throughout the EP. This slow building track (in 6/8 timing, unusual for a pop song) was again produced by Lachlan Mitchell and is rolling, layered and visually descriptive.

Towards the end of the year, DFB rediscovered their mojo and began to work on material that will be in a forthcoming EP, due for release in May. During the songwriting process on a rainy Brisbane summer afternoon, Dan, Stew and Matt wrote and recorded Song for Mary Lou.

Ash Grunwald | Australian Autumn Tour 2014 announced

AshHot off the stomping, hairy heels of Ash’s GARGANTUA album release and tour with Scott and Andy from The Living End, Ash is returning to the pavement as the lone troubadour, to pound his way up and down his favourite haunts. Renowned for the most incredibly, thumping live shows to come out of single human being, Ash is super excited about being back on the stomp box and reaffirming his decade long reputation as being the loudest one-man-band around.

During Ash’s time with Scott and Andy – one of the country’s most skilled rhythm sections, he was forced to step things up and do something he’d never done before – practice! The excitement of the challenge – the fear almost of playing with two such musical entities – spawned in Ash a passion for musical self-betterment he hadn’t felt since that all consuming, all too common teenage obsession of wanting to become the greatest musician in the world.

La Dispute announce Australian Tour with Balance and Composure

La DisputeNot many people make art for the sake of art anymore. In an age of dwindling attention spans and pop songs based on samples of what came before them, we need bands like La Dispute more than ever—and their third full-length Rooms Of The House is evidence of why.

The band—which features vocalist Jordan Dreyer, guitarists Kevin Whittemore and Chad Morgan-Sterenberg, bassist Adam Vass and drummer Brad Vander Lugt—began work on Rooms Of The House in April of 2013 by renting a cabin in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. “The area where we were was pretty remote so we could focus on playing and not much else,” Vass explains. “It was just the five of us working on writing every single day for a month and pretty much the entire album came out of those sessions.”
