ROYAL CHANT ‘Raise Your Glass & Collapse’ Tour Dates – February 2011

  What doesn’t kill us takes a long time to make us stronger. It’s a statement that the four individuals from the mid-north coast of New South Wales who comprise ROYAL CHANT bid you consider well, through the ten tracks of their debut album RAISE YOUR GLASS & COLLAPSE.

The album has been a labour of love for Royal Chant. Like a fine wine, the songs (and sometimes the band) required a lot of beating, stomping-on and being kept in the dark to mature, but the result is an impressive collection of tracks, indicative of the human condition – barbaric, sometimes chaotic, but mostly beautiful. Though framed in intelligent and skillful sounds, the songs are subtle and simple in substance. They are an invitation to be vulnerable; to share love, doubt, anger, loss, resignation, being human, and being less-than human – as complicated or straightforward as you want them to be.

KINGS OF LEON TOUR POSTPONED DUE TO INJURY OF BAND MEMBER

The Frontier Touring Company regret to advise that the Kings Of Leon tour has been postponed from March 2011 to November 2011 to allow drummer Nathan Followill to recover from surgery for a torn right labrum and bicep.

Doctors have advised that at least three months will be required for Nathan to recover post surgery to ensure the injury doesn’t reoccur.

Sydney band The Holidays have announced they’ll be taking their dreamy, palm tree jams on the road again with a national headline tour in April.


Post Paradise (Bonus Track Version) - The Holidays – Post Paradise (Bonus Track Version) 		  The band’s self produced, debut album Post Paradise, has proven to be a critic’s favourite and ended last year picking up The Age EG award for ‘Best Album’ and landing the year’s final Triple J Feature Album. The album also received “Album of the Week” in Drum Media, Beat Magazine, BMA Mag & The Brag, while Post Paradise has already delivered alternative radio favourites Broken Bones, Golden Sky and Moonlight Hours.

LEENA announced as support for ANDREW MCMAHON Tour [Tour News]

  LEENA’s debut set of songs on the ‘Mean Old Clock EP’ introduces a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist with a sunny exterior, and, upon closer listen, a darker core. LEENA has travelled the globe, recorded from Bronte to Burbank and worked a charmingly odd array of jobs along the way. She’s currently selling bespoke suits in Melbourne by day and writing her somewhat world-weary songs at night. With hints of the sophistication of Neil Finn, the moxie of Jenny Lewis, and the wistfulness of Cat Power, LEENA’s songs show us she’s a hopeful observer and a thoughtful old soul and we are delighted to confirm that LEENA will be supporting ANDREW MCMAHON across Australia this February.

“Weird Al” Yankovic Australian Tour 2011 [Tour News]

“Weird Al” Yankovic, the undisputed king of pop culture parody, has sold more comedy recordings than any other artist in history. In a career spanning nearly three decades, he has amassed 30 Gold and Platinum albums, 7 Gold and Platinum-certified home videos and 3 Grammy Awards (with 11 nominations).

The singer-songwriter’s first real brush with fame came in 1979 when he recorded “My Bologna” (a spoof of The Knack’s “My Sharona”) in the bathroom across the hall from his college campus radio station where he had a weekly DJ shift. The Beautiful Girls ‘My Mind is an Echo Chamber’ Australian Summer Tour – Jan 2011 [Tour News]

  ‘My Mind is an Echo Chamber’ was a song title before it was a song. The music comes from a love of dancehall and dub… punk rock and a sense of longing… distorted guitars and analog synths…the good kind…the kind with the broken faders. It’s King Tubby and Barrington Levy booming from a ghetto blaster set up on the side of an empty pool. It’s Scratch Perry lacing up his chucks and eating a burrito con pollo with lyrics from a Morrissey song swimming in his brain. Tape echoes, blue horns and skittering drums.

‘My Mind is an Echo Chamber’ is the third single off The Beautiful Girls fourth record Spooks . Following in the footsteps of its high rotation predecessors ‘Don’t Wait’ and ‘10:10’.
