Photo Credit: Pete Coorey		   On possibly the most humid Brisbane night in 2011 so far, a small crowd gathered at The Zoo in hopes of witnessing something special. Clutching cold beverages and gathering close to fans and windows, last Thursday night proved to be the time for these fans of funk and soul to have their wishes come true and be transported back to a time when their music, played with passion and skill, was at it’s very height.

Click Here To View Photos		   Trail of the Dead may have shed almost half their members since their last visit, but an evening at the Hi-Fi with this leaner line-up remains a punishingly loud experience.

Five back-to-back cuts from latest release Tao of the Dead give the feeling that the band is rushing to get the new material out of the way. Still Ebb Away and The Fairlight Pendant, in particular, are anything but second-rate.

Live Review | Ball Park Music + Millions + City Riots @ Alhambra Lounge, Brisbane – 23 July 2011

It was about time that Ball Park Music headlined their own tour. With presence and personality like theirs it is hard to stay in other bands’ shadows. The sellout crowd at Alhambra Lounge were treated to an exhilarating and upbeat show.

Local band Millions warmed up the crowd with smooth vocals, a steady snare and a nostalgic 90s sound. Concertgoers had their eyes on the band and were nodding along.
