FAITHLESS ARE BACK
Yes they are – they’re back – not just back after a four year absence but back….to reclaim the dance floor.
It’s funny that after fifteen years of existence (and well over 10 million records sold) Faithless have never been more relevant; think Calvin Harris’ recent number 1 or the countless tracks with a house groove, riff and rapper, Faithless’ signature sound adopted by many, bettered by none. Name checked by everyone from Hadouken to Tinchy, this band is legendary, but they are also on tip-top form: Continue reading FAITHLESS ARE BACK

Operator Please Announce Details Of Their Sophomore Album ‘Gloves’!
Everyone’s favourite Gold Coast collective, Operator Please, return with their remarkably sophisticated sophomore album ‘Gloves’ on Friday April 23.
The band spent 12 months pouring their heart and soul into a record that was largely self produced at a Byron Bay farm and in Amandah Wilkinson’s Gold Coast lounge room.
Lead singer Amandah says, “The album is the perfect representation for where we are at right now. It has all the experiences and growth from touring, seeing places and discovering the new; encompassed into about 35 minutes of songs.”
The band chose to upload the debut single ‘Logic’ to Myspace two weeks ahead of service: the reaction was incredible, with national radio stations adding the track immediately. Proving to be an instant hit, ‘Logic’ is released digitally on February 16.

News: The Medics ‘This Boat We Call Love’ East Coast Tour 2010
After quickly garnering the reputation as one of the most exciting new bands to emerge from Queensland’s ever-growing pool of the freakishly talented, The Medics are proud to announce the release of their second EP This Boat We Call Love and will celebrate with a series of East Coast launch shows with Melbourne’s Blackchords.
Like many a promising band, the stage is where The Medics truly shine. With their well-earned stripes in place after winning support slots for the likes of Something With Numbers, The Panics, The Grates, Faker, Blue King Brown and Scribe, the group of tight-knit friends have not only gained acclaim in their hometown of Cairns, far north Queensland, but are also pricking ears and turning the heads of the nation with their epic live show. Brimming with emotive songwriting, stunning musicianship and intense live performances, it won’t be long before the music lovers of Australia will be clambering to see the spectacle for themselves.
Released through Brisbane label Starving Kids, This Boat We Call Love was produced by Mark Myers from The Middle East and features five performances that walk the spectrum of rock – from the delicate and ambient to the jagged and intense.
Joining The Medics on the bulk of shows for their East Coast tour will be Melbourne’s Blackchords. After releasing their debut self-titled album in 2009 to many a glowing review, the band are now back in the country after a string of successful dates in the UK and France in the later part of the year. Wasting no time in jumping back into the spotlight to show off their gentle, swooning brand of rock, they’ll be joining The Medics on their New South Wales and Victorian dates.

The single also blasts to the top of the ARIA Digital Track Chart. Susan Boyle’s “I Dreamed A Dream” meanwhile achieves its eleventh consecutive week at the peak of the ARIA Album Chart. 4ZZZ, Time Off and Mistletone are thrilled to present The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart on their first Australian tour!
Hailing from Brooklyn, The Pains of Being Pure At Heart became one of the year’s most talked about indie pop bands with their self-titled debut album on Slumberland (recently released locally by the Lost & Lonesome Recording Co); an instant classic packed with brilliantly-executed pop gems. Drawing on the sparkling legacy of 80s and 90s indie pop, the Pains blend their rush of youthful enthusiasm with crafty arrangements, well-honed tunes and buckets of guitar racket. There is something instantly identifiable about a Pains tune, and it is the essential “rightness” of their records that has captured the attention of pop fans around the world. |
