The Dillinger Escape Plan – Australian Tour – August 2015

When it comes to faultless reputations, the band everyone thinks of is The Dillinger Escape Plan. With a slew of brilliant albums behind them, the titans of envelope-pushing, ground-breaking heavy music have become one of the most formidable acts on the planet.

Their newest album, ‘One of Us is the Killer’, is the band’s defining work with critics salivating and declaring them “leaders in a genre of precisely one” (Metal Hammer, 9/10); “enduringly peerless” (Rock Sound); “firing on cylinders, just as urgent as ever” (Alternative Press); “operating at the peak of their powers” (Kerrang!).

This year’s BIGSOUND music industry gathering in September has bolstered its speaker list with two of the industry’s global leaders. Named as one of the 20 most influential people by industry bible Billboard, Marc Geiger is a partner and Head of Music WME Entertainment. He looks after live bookings for some of the world’s biggest names including Jack White, Tony Bennett, Neil Diamond, The Flaming Lips, Jane’s Addiction, Lady Gaga, Janelle Monae, Nine Inch Nails, Tom Petty, Pixies, Trent Reznor and Rihanna. Prior to WME Geiger served as the Executive Vice President of A&R, Marketing and New Media at American Recordings and later launched ARTISTdirect. He also co-created Lollapalooza, which has since expanded to Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Germany.

Gatherer (Melbourne) and Guards of May (Brisbane) have joined forces to spread the word about their respective albums, both up for release in August. Gatherer’s ‘Heavy Hail’ drops first on August 7 and Guards of May’s ‘Future Eyes’ will see light of day on August 14, with the tour beginning on August 15.
