Optus and Michael Coppel present Rihanna live in concert around Australia this summer in her ‘LAST GIRL ON EARTH’ tour.

The iconic multi-platinum, multi-award winning global megastar, Rihanna will make her highly anticipated return to Australia in February and March 2011 for her first shows here since 2008.

Tickets go on general public sale at 9am Friday August 20, with pre-sales commencing August 9.

Washington ‘I Believe You, Liar’ Tour – August-September 2010

I Believe You Liar – Washington		   “I see them as sonic Polaroids, they all belong together.” That’s how Megan Washington assesses her stunning debut album, I Believe You, Liar (out 30 July 2010): a series of snapshots spanning 24 years, taking in everything from family to friends, crushes to heartbreak, trust, love, loss, lust, guilt, joy and everything in between. The album features Washington favourites Cement, Clementine, How To Tame Lions, Rich Kids and the new single Sunday Best.

Sunday Best is a story about lust and breaking up; Meg says “it just basically sounds like ‘I wanna have sex with you’ – which is, really, what it’s about”.

On July 30, Washington release their album with a sunset gig at Splendour In The Grass. Their performance will mark the beginning of a national tour celebrating the release of their album, and what promises to be one of the best Australian tours of the year!

Long Gone Whistle: The Songs of Maurice Frawley

  Great songs live forever. Whether you write ’em, sing ’em, or just love the stories they tell and the way they make you feel, make no mistake – the great ones will survive the blessed lot of us. Maurice Frawley left scores behind when he departed this world, after a short fight with cancer, in May 2009. To some folks – Paul Kelly, Charlie Owen, Tex Perkins, Tim Rogers, Mick Thomas and Don Walker for instance – plenty were already classics.

OZZY OSBOURNE Talks About Music That Inspired Him On ABC’s ‘Nightline’ – July 18, 2010

A live EP featuring six songs that were recorded during Ozzy Osbourne’s July 3, 2010 performance at the iTunes festival at London, England’s Roundhouse has been released exclusively via Apple’s iTunes Store.

OZZY OSBOURNE’s new album, “Scream”, sold 81,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 4 on The Billboard 200 chart.

Osbourne’s last album, “Black Rain”, opened with 152,000 units back in May 2007 to enter the chart at No. 3. That number was in line with the 153,000 first-week tally registered by 2001’s “Down to Earth”, which debuted at No. 4.

To coincide with the Shadow Thieves CD launch ‘Space Between’ @ Hard Rock Cafe, Surfers Paradise on the 27th August 2010, we have a few copies of the album up for grabs!… See below for details.

  Shadow Thieves perform a fusion of rock, indie, progressive rock, roots, funk and atmospheric music on the first wave of the socialistic digital age. The band consists of four key members; Matt Buckley, Jack Letizia, Joey Green and Cass Wilson. The project began as ‘ENACIO’ in early 2006 after performing with other local Gold Coast bands. The word soon spread, and national agency ‘The Pushworth Group‘ began to book the band shows including supports with Spiderbait, The Angels (Angel City),

Spare Parts: The School Competition!

  What is Spare Parts?
Spare Parts is an exhibition being held at the Brisbane Powerhouse from 9th November until 5th December 2010. The opening night is Friday 12th November 2010. Spare Parts will bring together a diverse range of artists all using pre-loved prosthetic limbs as their canvas.

As an exhibition Spare Parts will create and promote about 40 individual pieces of art and parallel to this, a positive and open conversation about prosthetics.

The diversity of artists is a very important component of the exhibition as is their interpretation of each limb. Those involved range from a world class graffiti artist, tattooists, a poet, painters, comic artists, to one of Australia’s most popular up and coming sculptors.

Beyond the traditional scope of “what is art” Spare Parts will also include a fashion designer, a milliner, a jeweller and a cobbler. Continue reading Spare Parts: The School Competition! →

Tame Impala “Spring Tour” October 2010


[Photo: Charlyn Cameron]		   Perth’s global gallivanters Tame Impala are fresh back from their virgin voyage around the USA in time to announce their Spring Australian Tour.

Since the recent release of their debut record, Innerspeaker, there’s been no rest for the Perth four-piece, who walked off the stage of their last Australian show and onto a jetplane bound for the states.

In the US they supported MGMT at a slew of sold out shows everywhere from Santa Cruz to Salt Lake City and played sold out headline shows of their own in NYC, LA and Chicago.
