A mini rocking country fest arrived in Newcastle on Saturday night lead by Australian country music’s latest thing, The Wolfe Brothers. The packed house enjoyed music from 6 artists spanning 3 countries. For the fan it was a unique experience, for the person wanting to check out where country music is heading, it was a great sampler.

The iconic rock band have revealed the title and release date of a brand new studio album, unveiled a handful of extra shows on their highly-anticipated One Night Stand tour and on top of all that they are excited to announce that they have coaxed Grinspoon out of an indefinite hiatus to be their special guests on 7 shows.

:: What track changed your life ::

That’s a hard question. I’d have to say ‘Longview’ by Green Day. It definitely blew me away the first time I heard it. (Another one would be Hendrix’s version of ‘All Along The Watchtower’).

:: What is your favourite Album ::

‘American Idiot’ by Green Day. I always used to get shit about being a Green Day fan, but their music had a huge impact on me and that album is just a masterpiece, in every sense.

BRITTLE Announce “THE OWLS” EP & National Tour July/Aug 2010

  There’s nothing more that Melbourne alternative rockers BRITTLE want to do but to capture their dynamic live sound and energy in their recordings and that’s exactly what they’ve achieved with legendary producer Mark Opitz at the helm on the band’s new five-track EP titled “The Owls” which will be unleashed on June 14 as a free digital download.

The EP will be backed by a massive tour of the same name that will see the band visiting all capital cities in June, July and August as well as a host of major regional centres around the country. It will be their largest Australian tour since the release of their debut EP ‘Chinese Whispers’ in 2008.

This will be Cold Chisel’s only major performance this year, cementing the Deniliquin Ute Muster as one of Australia’s flagship Festival’s for 2010.
