STARCRAZY
ANOTHER DAY ANOTHER SQUALOR EP
Released – March 10th 2023
Seldom does a new band appear on the Sydney scene with such a polished set of songs, and a live performance that goes perfectly with the music. When I saw them live at Glamfest last month I was taken aback at just how good Starcrazy turned out to be!

Chocolate Starfish plays Bat Out Of Hell
Albury Entertainment Centre Friday, February 10th 2023.
The “sirens are screaming, and the fires are howling way down in the Albury tonight”
The enthusiastic crowd at the Albury Entertainment Centre got to witness Chocolate Starfish’s latest in their classic album series.
I will disclose from the onset that I have an unashamed bias for the showmanship of Chocolate Starfish, in particular frontman Adam Thompson. Few music frontmen can play a show full throttle from the first note to the last, engaging every audience member. Few bands would dare to tackle in full one of the greatest albums produced in the 20th century; however the task seemed easy for this band.

This tour is an example of what can be achieved with a desire to bring the best musicians to Australia, and put them on a real tour that covers every major centre, including Canberra, Newcastle and Perth, and picks the right size venues, has excellent sound and lighting all round, and uses local support acts in the different areas. Massive congratulations to Gerard Allmann and Annie Johnsson for pulling this one off!

It has been a whirlwind 12 months for Don Broco.
In the span of 52 weeks they released a UK number 1 album in Amazing Things, had 4 hit singles with Manchester Super Reds, Gumshield, One True Prince and Fingernails; headlined the Slam Dunk Festival; and impressively were one of the 4 artists selected to each play an evening at the legendary Royal Albert Hall for 2022 Teenage Cancer Trust.
The other 3 were The Who, Ed Sheeran and Liam Gallagher!! Not bad company, right?

EVERCLEAR / TRIP FANDINO / STUPID BABY
Drifter’s Wharf, Gosford
8th Feb 2023
Everclear are on their 30th Anniversary Tour taking in a whole load of Australian cities and regional towns, and delivering a set that rolls back the years and sees a rough, raucous and loud grunge-punk band delivering classic after classic as if they were all still in their 20’s. Art Alexakis is unchanged, and has had Davey French on guitar for nearly 20 years now, with Freddy Herrera on bass since 2009, and new boy Brian Nolan on the drums for the past five years.
