OK GO return to Australia – February 2010

OK GO   The mind-bending band that gave us what is largely considered the decade’s most viewed music video (even the Simpsons parodied it), the treadmill-manned, Grammy-award winning “Here It Goes Again,” is back. Never content to rest on their laurels, OK Go return with the new album, Of The Blue Colour Of The Sky. The album is the follow up to 2005’s Oh No and was produced by ex-Mercury Rev member David Fridmann (Flaming Lips, MGMT).

The band will make tour stops in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne and appearing at Playground Weekender right on the heels of the album release.

OK Go has been busy developing videos to accompany each of the album’s 13 tracks with videos for “WTF” and “This Too Shall Pass” having debuted so far. With 175 million video streams and counting, OK Go is the most-downloaded band ever.

The record’s title comes from an 1876 book promoting the erroneous theory that blue light cures all ills. As fits a record influenced by Prince and crackpot 19th century arm-chair scientists, the record is both danceable and contemplative; it’s introspective, with a vein of surrealism running through it.

OK Go – are Damian Kulash, Tim Nordwind, Dan Konopka and Andy Ross –
