EMERY, the ever-evolving rock quintet, are set to embark on their first Australian Headline tour in four years.
EMERY are not an easy band to categorise, over their more than 10 year career their style has fluctuated within the realms of alternative rock and melodic post hardcore. Their aggressive metal rhythms and howling vocals are a cathartic release while their hushed melancholia, keyboard textures and hook ridden melodies bring out the spiritual crisis at the core of the lyrics. The result is EMERY perform music that means something to their fans.
Since their last visit to Australia, EMERY have left long time record label, Tooth and Nail Records and formed their own label, BadChristian Music. Through their unique relationship with their fanbase, Emery have successfully crowdfunded their next album, ‘You Were Never Alone’ – with the end sum reaching over $100 000, more than double the band’s initial goal. “We were honestly a little nervous going into to the launch,” admitted guitarist, Matt Carter. “I couldn’t believe how quickly people got involved. I stayed up refreshing the page on my phone all night when it went live.” The upcoming record sees the return of founding member/vocalist, Devin Shelton.
EMERY have built a strong following in Australia and these shows are sure to delight longtime fans and newcomers alike as the band performs a mix of classic material and their more recent, heavier tracks.
