CAIRNS BASED ARTIST LEANNE TENNANT RELEASES HAUNTING NEW SINGLE AND TOUR – AUGUST 2016

Leanne Tennant

After winning the 2015 Queensland Music Award for best “Blues & Roots” Artist and being selected as a finalist in this years Billy Thorpe Scholarship Leanne Tennant has well and truly solidified herself as a serious talent within the Australian music community.

Gentle Annie” will be the first release for Tennant since her critically acclaimed debut of 2014 Pull Up Your Britches. The thumping, dark, emotive track has a surprisingly light lyrical theme as Tennant explains – “Each day I climb into my little Subaru, turn the corner, and roll pass an old bus on the side of the road called ‘Gentle Annie’. It’s a lovely old bus, painted blue & white and looks as though it’s well loved but it never, ever, leaves the side of the road. I have fantasies about climbing on board and running off on a road trip together. Just me and the old Blue n White.”

Gentle Annie” is an introduction to Leanne Tennant’s heavily anticipated sophomore album RED WINE, LATE NIGHTS. The album was recorded and produced at Wild Mountain Sound Studio (a tape based studio) at Mt. Nebo by Jamie Trevaskis – the man behind the sound of Robert Forsters new album Songs To Play. The result is a beautifully raw and authentic record full of refreshingly untouched features, gritty bass lines and of course Leanne Tennant’s captivating vocals.

Leanne will be hitting the road in support of her album release in August. The tour includes many regional shows along the QLD coast and two very special NSW shows.
