Familiar to television audiences from her work on The Ronny Johns Half Hour and regular guest spots on the ABC’s Spicks and Specks and Channel 7’s Thank God You’re Here, the comedian is about to bring her self-depreciating, disarmingly charming self to Brisbane in her new show, Honestly.

Writing from Hong Kong, where she is currently touring with the Melbourne Comedy Festival Roadshow, Ward gave Life Music Media a brief taste of what is to come.

  Quite often, to reach an international level of success means the artist becomes complacent and mass-produces haphazard regurgitations of work from their glory days. Thankfully, Gomez’s seventh release Whatever’s On Your Mind does not fall into this category. Fronted by Ian Ball, the London lads have produced a sunnier sound with a slightly more pleasant, less brooding disposition compared to their earlier albums. With the central theme of letting go and moving forward, Whatever’s On Your Mind speaks to many people.

Thus, when the band’s debut LP …and so we destroyed everything was announced for release, along with an accompanying tour, there was a suitable amount of excitement around Melbourne town for what would be the band’s first headline show in the city. The Get Up Kids Australian Tour Supports Announced!

  CITY RIOTS have kicked many musical goals since their inception in late 2008. Triple J play? Check. SXSW? Check. CMJ Music Marathon? Check. For this indie-pop band, this is only the beginning. It seems things arenʼt letting up for the Adelaide four-piece with this year in full swing, with CITY RIOTS set to show off their wares supporting THE GET UP KIDS nationwide.

Way too many quiet parts mixed with way too many loud bits and you have the basic recipe to all things WE SET SAIL. With a 3rd and 4th release due out before the end of 2011, the Brisbane four-piece will be gracing the stage as opening support for THE GET UP KIDS. In Sydney, BETWEEN THE DEVIL AND THE DEEP are currently gearing up to release their highly anticipated debut full-length album and bringing their live set to The Metro.
