MGMT (USA)
Breaking onto the global scene out of Brooklyn, New York back in 2005, in just a few short years MGMT have firmly established themselves as one of the planet’s most sought-after, captivating and innovative bands. Mark Ronson and The Business Intl (USA)

Making his name as an A-list New York party DJ in the early 1990s, Ronson quickly moved on to music production and, well, the rest is history! As one of the planet’s hottest producers, his seemingly magical studio touch has helped shape best-selling albums for superstar artists the ilk of Lilly Allen, Christina Aguilera, Robbie Williams, Amy Winehouse, Kaiser Chiefs, Nas and, most recently, The Like. Meanwhile, as a musician, he’s released no less than three artist albums since 2003 (‘Here Comes The Fuzz’, ‘Version’ and, most recently, ‘Record Collection’), has topped the world’s charts with tunes like “Ooh Wee”, “Stop Me”, “Valerie”, “The Bike Song” and “Bang Bang Bang”, and is regularly called upon to play the planet’s biggest venues, festivals, stadiums and everything in between. His latest evolution sees him gigging under the alias of ‘Mark Ronson and The Business’, an apt name which clearly sums things up: because there ain’t not doubt that Mark Ronson is ‘the business’.

Having already featured on singles with superstar rappers Flo Rida and Pitbull, supported Rhianna on her ‘Last Girl On Earth’ tour and graced Lollapalooza’s hallowed stage, Ke$ha is a 23-year old party-girl pop phenomenon whose well on her way to global dominance.
The Presets (AUS)
When Sydney lads Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes met at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music back in 1995, little did they know that just ten years later they would rise to become one of the world’s freshest and most dynamic electronic combinations. Dubbing themselves The Presets, this multi-talented, award-winning pair of musical wunderkinds dropped their debut album ‘Beams’ in 2005 which not only went gold, but infamously spawned the worldwide hit ‘Are You The One?’. Their sublime 2008 triple-platinum awarded follow-up ‘Apocalypso’, featured hits like ‘My People’, ‘This Boy’s In Love’ and ‘Talk Like That’, and shot them even further into the stratosphere. Purveyors of some of the planet’s finest Synthpop and Electro sounds, The Presets have remixed the likes of Lenny Kravitz, Midnight Juggernauts and Kings Of Leon, and, with a new album ready for unveiling in early 2011, are showing no sign of returning to Earth anytime soon. The prodigious pair have also put the finishing touches to a hotly anticipated new LIVE show, which they’ll unleash for the very first time at Future Music Festival 2011 …
Leftfield (UK)
For the last 20 years, Paul Daley and Neil Barnes (aka Leftfield) have been tirelessly helping to shape electronic music as we know it today. Richie Hawtin Presents Plastikman (CAN)
A stalwart of the Techno scene and pioneer of the Minimal genre, Richie Hawtin has been pushing the envelope of electronic sounds for well over 20 years now. In a career littered with highlights, in 2010 this pioneering DJ and Producer holds a special place in the hearts and lives of old-skool ravers and new-school clubbers the world over. As a seminal player in the early Detroit Techno wave, his revered Plastikman moniker took abstract sounds to new heights and broke new ground with tunes like “Krakpot”, Plastique”, “Musik” and “Sickness” , while his Plus 8 label (founded in 1990) quickly rose to become one of Techno’s premier imprints. In recent times, Hawtin’s M-Nus label has picked up where Plus 8 left off, while his DJing career has reached spectacular new heights – he’s one of the most sought after acts in the world, his Cocoon residency alongside Sven Vath at Ibiza is the planet’s hottest ticket, and his M-Nus nights which use cutting-edge technology to link the crowd via a glowing ‘cube’ are often sold-out within minutes of being announced. As Plastikman, however, Hawtin arguably does what he does best – play 100% live – and having recently relaunched the iconic pseudonym for another trip around the globe for the first time since 2004, it’s time for an all new generation of club kids to witness its technological genius and mind-blowing wizardry.
Steve Angello (Swedish House Mafia) (SWE)
Swedish House Mafia’s Steve Angello is unstoppable at the moment totally destroying every gig he plays – but in truth, the momentum has been building on Steve Angello’s music for some time now. First up was arguably his globe-straddling Moby remix of ‘Raining Again.’ Then it was ‘Tell Me Why’ with Sebastian Ingrosso and ‘Be’ with Laidback Luke. And then ‘Be’ returned in spirit (and b-line) for ‘Show Me Love’ with original vocalist Robin S and Laidback Luke in tow, smashing clubs and Top Ten charts into tiny pieces everywhere it was dropped. “It’s a huge track as we all know,” says Steve Angello. “It’s just one of those tracks. It’s done a lot of good stuff for me so I do a new bootleg of it every six months. The best thing about it is everywhere I go, it’s the one track that everyone wants to hear. I may have played it 60,000 times but people still want to hear it!”. When he wakes up, Angello is still very much the A&R supremo for Size Records, wherever he lays his hat that night. The label is now firing with released by himself, Kim Fai, Funkagenda and Marcos Schauss upcoming this year alone. And what about Steve’s own album? “I’m doing the Mescalkid album which is more techno – I have a Mescalkid track coming out on Sci-Tec, a dark techno track I really love but you know, I’m still making three new tracks a week! But my album is going to be really house and techy…. I got a couple of vocals in the bag but it’s too early to say.” And then of course there’s the small matter of the Pharell Williams collaboration “One” now taking the world by storm . “We met in Sydney. We started to talk and ‘Be’ was playing in the background and Pharrell said he loved the track. We had four days off and that’s when we nailed it. I think everything is moving towards electronic dance music. Everybody is interested in what we are doing.”

As a Producer, his remixes are the stuff of legend – from Michael Jackson and Lenny Kravitz to The Killers, Duran Duran, Chris Cornell and Good Charlotte, the list of musical royalty he’s been called upon to remix reads like a copy of Rolling Stone. While as a label boss, his iconic Dim Mak Records is one of the planet’s most revered Indie imprints and boasts the likes of MSTRKRFT, The Bloody Beetroots, Klaxons and Whitey on its star-studded roster. Masterful DJ, in-demand Producer, successful label boss and fashion aficionado … Steve Aoki is a cultural icon and cult figure whose ongoing impact upon the EDM movement cannot be denied.

Held aloft by his peers as a “DJs DJ”, it’s little wonder that this gifted and grounded electronic music champion is a regular feature on the planet’s biggest underground lineups.

As a prolific and successful producer, insanely popular globetrotting DJ, intrepid label boss and the most Googled man in Holland in 2008; four-deck wizard and all-around dude, Don Diablo, is a gifted musician who’s clearly on the path to greatness. Fresh, bold and spontaneous, Don Diablo’s DJ sets are famed for comprising a barrage of exclusive edits and bootlegs, and further championed for their frenetic energy, technical mastery and spur of the moment insanity. Keep an eye out for ‘Make You Pop’ his latest collaboration with Diplo and his hot new single ‘Animale’. One thing is for sure, its going to be a big summer for the man the call Don Diablo!
Etienne De Crecy (FRA)
From Deep house to techno DJ/producer Etienne de Crecy was a key figure behind Paris’ rise as one of the world’s dance music hubs during the 1990s. Born in Lyon, he has peddled his talent under several different guises, including Motorbass, La Chatte Rouge, and Super Discount. His first major undertaking, Motorbass, grabbed a cult following soon after its launch in 1991 and not only alerted the world to the rapidly evolving Parisian dance music scene, but also spawned underground favorites like the Motorbass EP, “Transphunk” single and Pansoul album. An irresistible talent, de Crecy has also served up the legendary Super Discount and Tempovision albums, released countless iconic tunes (including “Prix Choc” and “Am I Wrong?”) and remixed the likes of Air and Alex Gopher.

Presenting his own self-titled show on BBC Radio 1 four nights a week, Zane is a certified tastemaker whose reputation for breaking hot new acts, the next big single and stars of the future is second to none. His track record of awarding his ‘Fresh Meat Award’ is testament to this, with previous winners including household names like Arctic Monkeys, Bloc Party, Kasabian and Kaiser Chiefs. The Subs (BEL)
Rambunctious. That’s the least you can say about Belgian beat-bastards The Subs (made up of Jeroen De Pessemier aka Papillon (singer/producer), Wiebe Loccufier and Stefan Bracke). Having already released underground dance maxis, The Subs hit Europe at full-speed with ‘Kiss My Trance’ – a punk/trance-juggernaut of a single. The track started off as a joke – the band wanted to see how far they could push the limits of the trance-genre. A true jack-in-the-box, ‘Kiss My Trance’ turned out to be a massive cross-over success. In genuine guerrilla-style, ‘Kiss My Trance’ entered both commercial charts and DJ-lists – it terrorised European radio and set club dance-floors on fire. Come late 2009, and enter ‘Mitsubitchi’, a track made for the 10th anniversary of famous London club Fabric. It was picked up very quickly by The Crookers, Mixhell, Boris Dlugosh and The Bloody Beetroots who later on did a remix of the track under the Bobermann guise. ‘Mitsubitchi’ has now travelled the globe, becoming an Australian club and festival smash! So much for the joke – The Subs are in business… for real!
James Holroyd (UK)
DJ James Holroyd a.k.a. Boggy James Holroyd, started plying his trade back in 1991 in the heady days of the original Back to Basics at Leeds’ Music Factory. He was introduced to the decks playing a mixture of funk, house, disco and hip-hop, and by 1992 his unique style and cheeky personality had secured him a job as resident. In 1993 he joined forces with the Jockey Slut Magazine team to form a house and techno based club night called Bugged Out! and in 1997 this weekly night earned itself the Muzik Magazine Award for ‘Club of the Year’. James is still resident at Bugged Out! which has now moved to Cream in Liverpool and become a monthly night. Connections made in Manchester had also lead to Boggy hooking up with the Chemical Brothers. Tom and Ed were so impressed with Holroyd’s DJ style that they invited him to tour with them in England from 1995 and then America from 1997. In 1998 Basics reopened its doors at The Mint Club in Leeds and James was once again invited to spin as resident DJ alongside Ralph Lawson. After touring South America with the Chemical Brothers on their Surrender Tour in 1999, they personally requested James as their support artist for their Australian Tour this year.
Sound Of Stereo (BEL)
Until some time ago “Sound” and “Stereo” were just two words that popped up every once in a while in your hifi-installation’s manual. In 2008 those two words stopped being just random: “Sound Of Stereo” saw the light of day. In only a few months time they conquered the hearts of music lovers all over the world. In November 2008, their first EP came out on Lektroluv Records and had massive response in Belgium and abroad. The follow-up single “Heads Up!” was an instant success because of it’s track listing by the likes of MSTRKRFT, Crookers, Armand Van Helden, Bloody Beetroots and many more. In the meantime Sound of Stereo travelled abroad to dj at parties all over Europe. In Belgium they dj at large events such as I Love Techno,Pukkelpop festival, Dour festival, 10 Days off and so on.
