SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS 2011 Dates & Venue Confirmed!

SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS have officially confirmed that this year’s festival will again be held in the wonderful surrounds of Woodfordia, near Woodford, south-east Queensland.

Australia’s number one mid-winter music celebration will be held across three big days from Friday 29th to Sunday 31st July. Set those dates aside for more music, arts and culture from around the globe.

SITG would also like to advise that any damage inflicted on the Woodfordia site during January’s devastating floods throughout SE QLD will be well and truly repaired by the time of the festival. “We wouldn’t be announcing Woodfordia as the location for the 2011 Splendour In the Grass festival if we weren’t completely confident that was the case,” said Splendour’s co-producers Jessica Ducrou and Paul Piticco.

MM9 ANNOUNCE SPLIT!

After nine years, three releases and hundreds of live shows, MM9 have announced that the band is calling it a day. They have cited an inability to “pour 100% of our hearts and souls into the music we’re making” and the fact that “as individuals, we’re heading in different directions,” as the reason for the decision.

MM9 first brought their brand of hard-edged electro-rock to the stages of their hometown of Sydney, and created a groundswell of support that firmly established them as one of Australia’s premier touring acts. Uniquely combining elements of heavy rock & electro, littered with guitar-driven melodies; MM9 became known as a band whose versatility was matched only by the sheer potency of their stage presence.

PROPAGANDHI AUSTRALIAN TOUR, MAY 2011

Secret internal cables released early Monday morning by controversial whistle-blower website Wikileaks, have provoked an unprecedented 694-day debate in Australian Parliament.

The cables suggest, contrary to public pronouncements from the Gillard government, that the unbelievably good looking Canadian hard rock band Propagandhi have no time-line for withdrawal from their extremely unpopular mission in Australia.

Propagandhi have warned against handing over responsibility for security in Australia to any of the completely self-serving total assholes that tend to get involved in federal politics in the first place, insisting the transition must be tailored to the conditions on the ground.

“Reggie Watts: Super comedian. Faster than a speeding punchline” Seattle Times

Reggie Watts began his career as a singer in various bands in the early 1990s. Then he started being himself. Crazy. Absurd. And the people laughed. They’re still laughing. In his unique sets, Reggie’’s subjects range from ancient history, technology, magic, spirit elves, dragons, mythology and theology to pop culture. The music, exploiting a jaw dropping vocal range, incorporates hip-hop, tripͲhop, 80’’s pop alternative, nu-metal and classical opera – no two songs are ever the same. Reggie loves to disorient and confuse people in the most entertaining way possible.

Amy Meredith tickets available exclusively through fans!

Sydney rockers Amy Meredith last week announced a new tour, and for the first week tickets are only available via fans.

Fans can go to POSSE and get a link that they can post out on Facebook, Tweet or email to friends. If friends click on the links to get tickets then they’ll be able to buy tickets a week before they go on sale to the general public. Plus the Posse member gets paid $2.50 for each ticket sold through their link!

Amy Meredith recognise that fans promoting to their friends on social networks is the most effective form of advertising they can get. They’re transferring the budget they used to allocate to poster advertising and offering it to fans instead.

Amy Meredith lead singer, Christian Lo Russo says: “There are so many ways to get a band’s profile bigger and the music to the masses. TV and Radio are two. But the best and most effective way is word of mouth. The fans are one of, if not the most important part of a band’s success. When your best friend is raving about something, you’re more likely to give it a go so in turn we always like to give something back to the fans.”

Fans sold a massive 40% of tickets to Amy Meredith’s tour in late 2010, which meant the band were able to sell out multiple nights at the same venue. This time they’re sweetening the offer by holding private sound-check parties for every fan who sells four tickets to a show.

To promote Amy Meredith’s exclusive pre-sale, Join Posse Here, then search for Amy Meredith show.

This week on Posse you can also earn $5 promoting Future Music Festival, $4 promoting Creamfields, $3 promoting Groovin’ the Moo, $5 promoting MS Fest, $8 promoting Supafest and many more!

Head to POSSE to get started.
