It almost seems absurd that a chart-topping US rock band like Alter Bridge should be playing a venue as small as Sydney’s HiFi. So, it makes sense that tonight’s show – a Soundwave sideshow – should be completely sold out. Indeed, the line of punters stretches from the front door, around the side and turns back on itself to the front door. The Tremonti (AB’s guitarist) tattoo taking one guy’s entire lower leg tells us that he’s probably been here most of the day waiting.

Live Review | Rob Zombie + Korn + Mushroomhead | Big Top Luna Park, Sydney – February 24, 2014

What a freakin’ line up! Tonight’s Soundwave sideshow has sold out Luna Park’s Big Top and had punters lining up around the venue since 9am. It’s hardly surprising when you have Nu Metal legends Korn and comic super villain Rob Zombie headlining the same bill.
Opening tonight’s festivities are the masked crazies Mushroomhead. While their sound may not completely live up to their evil image, they offer an interesting three vocal assault, combining rap, screams and melodic vocals over a thickened bed of crushing riffs and soaring choruses. Tonight’s performance quickly whips up the early crowd, with all three singers launching into the crowd at one point.

Gary Numan | ‘Splinter’ Australian & NZ Tour 2014
Gary Numan is a truly unique artist and everybody knows it. And he is back in black and ready to darken Australia and New Zealand once again!
Never one to let the past remain his legacy, Gary released his 20th album at the end of 2013. Splinter has been described by Filter Magazine as “mechanized, sci-fi mini-operas.. awesomely grandiose”. It can be considered one of the best albums he has ever produced and Numan shows no signs of slowing down with a return tour to Australia confirmed for May 2014!

Guards of May new single “Arcadia” + Tour Dates
Guards of May are keeping the momentum rolling from their previous single release in late 2013 with a brand new single and East Coast tour in April. Recorded predominantly with Matt Bartlem and also with Tyse Lee at Loose Stones Records, the followup to their wildly successful single Numbers, Arcadia, takes things to the next level. The single is out digitally on iTunes, Spotify, Bandcamp and more on Friday March 28, just ahead of their first tour date.

Supported by Melbourne four-piece Don Fernando, it’s the first time the rock royalty have visited our shores since 2010 and as vocalist/preacher Neil Fallon and his beard proclaim, “Let’s make up for lost time!”

Yacht Club DJs Oddity Number 5 East Coast Tour Announcement
Too long have our dance floors lay dormant. Too long has ‘mash’ been of the potato variety. Australia’s favourite mash up maestros Yacht Club DJs will settle the score this April with their Oddity Number 5 Tour – an East Coast run of oddball proportions and the namesake of their fifth infamous mixtape.
It follows the duo’s stint through the UK and US last year; personally invited by Grammy Award winners Mumford & Sons to join them on their Gentlemen of the Road Stopovers, alongside Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, HAIM, The Walkmen and The Vaccines.
