Steel Panther have graced Australian shores numerous times over the last handful of years, each time moving to larger and larger stages around the country. However, when we first heard about the mock-hair metal band’s move to Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion for their ‘Spread the Disease’ tour, we thought it might have been a little optimistic.
But arriving just in time to see first support act Fozzy take to the large Hordern stage, fronted by WWE wrestler Chris Jericho, with a line of people waiting to get into the venue that seemed to stretch on forever, it was obvious that filling the big shed would prove no problem tonight. With their southern-tinged brand of high energy rock ‘n’ metal, Fozzy easily whips the early punters into a frenzy of sweaty bodies despite the venue being half empty.

SUZANNE VEGA to play a select series of Bluesfest sideshows.
Arriving at Barangaroo the place was littered with many hopeful bodies ready to witness the return of the Vans Warped Tour to Australia. Though Barangaroo came off as a little small for such as huge festival, the venue was exceptionally prepared, with easy access to all amenities & better yet a bar area that had a great view of both the main stages.


Today Bluesfest Byron Bay, Australia’s multi award winning 5 Day Festival, held over the Easter long weekend (17th – 21st of April) at its home, the Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm, north of Byron Bay, opens the fourth chapter to its 25th Anniversary special edition and the message coming from the Bluesfest HQ is that there will be at least one more artist release before Christmas – after all the Festival still has many of its artists left to announce.
Bluesfest announced it has been nominated for the highly regarded Annual Pollstar Award in the category of the 2013 ‘International Music Festival of the Year’ for the second year running. The 24th Bluesfest was held over the Easter long weekend this year and included headliners Santana, Paul Simon, Robert Plant, Iggy & The Stooges, Ben Harper, Rodriguez, The Lumineers and Australian artists The Cat Empire and Xavier Rudd, among many others.
