After a recent and successful tour of the United States Of America, 18 year old Perth singer/songwriter VEE returns to her native Perth to perform her most anticipates shows to date. Vee shot to recognition with her debut YouTube video for her single “Summer” – a song that encapsulates the vibrant feelings the popular season brings. “My strong personal relationship with the beach brings me fulfilment and I love that anyone can go to the beach; it’s free and fun and I just wanted to share this around,” says Vee.

The independently made video clip shot by the singer’s handycam and featuring the love of her friends and the ocean went viral, clocking up a massive 31,000 views in less than five weeks. “That was a little unexpected,” says Vee.

Her song ‘Party girl’ was also making a name for itself as bloggers and Facebook pages followed her development. One of the blogs saying “I know all the lyrics of her songs… My father has been on the Vee-wagon since day dot… as for my mother, she walked into my room and started dancing exactly like Vee… the fact that my mum is partaking in the irony (of the lyrics) is perplexing.” Vee’s rebellious yet sweet songs push the boundaries; her recognizable lyrics dotted with humor.

Vee recently came back from the USA, where she sang and performed in New York City Clubs, The Los Angeles Japan fundraiser and a Texas Music festival. A prominent NYC blogger wrote, “Vee’s beauty is enhanced by her sweet, bubbly yet rebellious attitude, which radiates on stage”. During her trip she also hung with the likes of prominent Hollywood faces such as Perez Hilton and the MTV crew. Vee filmed her video clip ‘Mix Cd’ in New York’s Central Park and appeared on New York Spanish Television.

Back at home and Vee has been creating her own frenzy with airplay on Nova FM. Her ‘Summer’ video stirred up much controversy resulting in its removal. With Vee’s facebook fan page receiving over 100, 000 hits in one month and over 2000 fans, you begin to think nothing will get in Vee’s way.

What’s next for Vee? “Well… my friends know me as the crazy, outgoing chick, but I grasp the opportunities that come my way and run with them.” For a city that has been taken over by ‘indie and rock bands’ this solo flying pop/hip hop girl will take on anyone.
