Australians have but a few weeks to prepare themselves for the torrent that is a performance from American post-punk band Swans. As announced in late 2012, The Frontier Touring Company will be bringing the commanding sextet to perform two East Coast shows next month alongside their appearance at ATP Festival.
Since Swans’ debut visit to Australia in 2011, they have released the album The Seer (out now through YoungGodsRecords.com) which has been heralded as the band’s best release to date.
According to front man Michael Gira, The Seer was an album thirty years in the making. It is clear that decades of honing and perfecting the skills of the talented musicians behind the band was valuable as the final result is what can only be described as modern masterpiece:
