Northlane will launch and headline the 2014 version of their own curated mini-fest this coming May around Australia. Free Your Mind 2014 will include five touring acts on it’s Australian leg, including international and domestic artists, with local slots to be chosen via a competition launching on March 6 on TheMusic.com.au
Each week a different touring act for Free Your Mind will be announced on Channel V’s “LOUD” program on Monday evenings. The schedule for each announcement is listed below alongside the dates.
Northlane are well known for doing things differently to most bands, and the Free Your Mind concept continues that tradition. “We always wanted to have our own brand that we can use to create tours in Australia and around the world. We are starting small so that we can grow it into something truly special. Something we can use to promote artists we love and give our fans tours that we know they will love. The best way to do that is to have a brand that people can relate to. Free Your Mind is that brand.”
Northlane will be the headline band on the fest. These dates will be the last on their hugely successful album cycle for their 2012 opus “Singularity”, which took the band around the world multiple times for nearly 200 shows that have included Soundwave and Big Day Out, as well arena tours in the US and UK with Bring Me The Horizon and Architects, respectively. Their last major headline tour sold out every show back in June 2013.
All dates on Free Your Mind are one off shows, with no extra dates planned for any cities. All dates are expected to sell out.
