Mike McCarthy and Dan Hannaford announce BUILDING FIRES North Coast Tour

This time two years ago, Mike McCarthy and Dan Hannaford were holed up in a small fishing shack on the mid north coast NSW recording Dan’s first LP Rust to Dust. Since then they have both been extremely busy forging out their respective music careers.

Mike McCarthy has been out touring his 2012 album The Lion’s Share with his now wife Soph. They’ve travelled up and down the East coast of Australia playing their brand of open sea folk and dirt box blues in the first year of marriage promoting an album that initially brought them together. Now they head north of the border to promote the latest single BUILDING FIRES.

Dan Hannaford has been busy gracing hundreds of stages all around Australia. In the past twelve months he has showcased his talent at the National Folk Festival and iconic Byron Bay Blues Festival, being named on the bill alongside John Fogerty, Cold Chisel and Crosby Stills & Nash. His single ‘Deeper Water’ was also included on the Bluesfest compilation album. Hannaford’s independent debut Rust & Dust recently featured as album of the week on Brisbane ABC Radio.

These two iconic Australian singer/songwriters now come together to play a string of memorable shows from Yamba NSW to Noosa QLD. Sharing their heart through their music is what counts on this tour and no doubt they’ll be building fires and growing their respective fanbases along the way.
